The real issue is not his ability or conditions to play. Juan Roman Tristelme himself is the problem. I used to enjoy watching him play. I no longer do. He doesn't care about the game any longer. Whether it's Boca, Villarreal o la Seleccion, he looks beaten right at the outset. Yeah, he will still give that killer pass or score the ocassional goal, but he is simply "too triste(lme)" to rally a bunch of guys or carry the team by himself.

Honestly, I'm very happy for people like you who used to enjoy Roman and felt something was missing in his game ... to now realize he is ina league of his own.

What a fokin treat is to watch his football. Unique. :D

this is the thruth, i used to love watching him at villareal, but in between the wc he seem to have lost it, he still has that killer pass but its just not even a joy since he seems so triste about it, he is the definition of the word pecho frio. its too bad as he was a great player.
by the way tyc and ole overates riquelme. even the fat river guy.

Yeah he looks so "triste" in these pictures.

Apparently he has to be like Ronaldinho with a goofy smile all the time to be a good player.

ok about the comment you just made, Ronaldinho is the biggest 'pecho frio' ever and he lacks the heart to lead his team in key matches, as demonstrated in the WC (oh wait, he didnt go right?), game against Sevilla this season (missed a pk that cost them some points against their closest rival), last years CL final (made a pk and that was about it), last year against Chelsea in CL (if it wasn't for Messi, they would have been screwed), and this year against Liverpool (he did nothing).

He lacks 'huevos' to play anything and is incredibly overrated

did i ever say ronaldinho i thinks he is overrated as well. he dissapears just like riquelme. like i said i used to liike riquelme but he is just so sad and overrated that i stopped liking him (but at villareal i enjoyed watching him), i rather have veron at least he plays with alot of passion and heart.

I never said you did, I just wanted to point it out because I despise him

and ya Veron played with so much heart in the WC 2002.
I can't believe Basile is actually considering him as the captain of the team :mad:
