Classy move by Dema.

Captain and #6 and starting!?!
All we need is the retro uniforms with the true (winning) DC United logo rather than the Trans-Am (losing) DC United logo, and it would be just like the good days.
(Of course, we would still have to fix those two banners Harkes helped win by giving them the logo under which the titles were won...)

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend tonight's game. I will be at the premiere of the Matrix:Reloaded. I send my condolences to the DC United and Tottenham Hotspurs organizations. And best wishes to Johnny. I will be humming "When Johnny comes marching home...." song during the previews. :D

If you remove his yellow card there may be a riot amongst the populus unlike those seen since the RDA trade.

My thoughts EXACTLY!
But back to the article, I'm anxious to see what these English/Turk prospects might have to offer. Hope Dyson can get a look tomorrow. I'm also looking forward to seeing Ivanov, hope he does well.

I'm not afraid to say that when I was in middle school and Harkes was at UVa, my brother and I got our hair cut like his--kinda spiked on top with the pseudo-mullet in the back!

To whomever receives the back-end profits of my $16 ticket, $10 parking ticket, $30 for food, $50 for beer and $75 fine for driving drunk.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that bit. I'm very curious about it. I can think of one player who kind of fits the "young English player of Turkish descent" description: Muzzy (Mustafa) Izzet who plays for Leicester City and Turkey. He's not really "young" though, I think he's 29, but hey, on our team that might be considered young.
Don't know if he's any good anymore, but he was playing very well a few years ago. But it's probably not him anyway.

It was already determined that it's not Izzet.

Yup. On the Soccer Show, Dyson played a clip of Hudson discussing the search for a new striker. Ray mentioned that there had been a Russian who was interested (and willing to play for "peanuts" for the first season), but since he was older than 24, and therefore a senior international, DC couldn't sign him. We've only got room for a TI, not an SI like Muzzy.

Muzzy Izzet does have one of the best names in the history of soccer.

No . . . This guy's name is much better. It's something like Azim Azaam (sp?) . . . No doubt he will become known as "AzAz". He shows up Thursday, but the team will not be practicing again until Friday.
