Yes I am.

Toronto has to much money not to build a stadium for an NFL team.

Well I can't speak for Toronto because I don't know the logistics of the area, but where are they going to put a huge stadium? I know they got a stadium built pretty quickly for the MLS but this is Canada we are talking about. We love to have our teams playing in outdated crumbling stadiums.

Montreal and Vancouver are guaranteed to be in the MLS in the near future. They will have stadiums and a fan base which will only grow by going to MLS. Also you need atleast 2 more teams in MLS from Canada to make rivalries to TFC and maybe start a Canadian Cup competition. But in my opinion it is guaranteed Van and Mon will be in MLS in the near future im guessing 2010-11 once the arrangement with TFC ends.

They're not "guaranteed" anything.

Possible, sure. Likely? Maybe. Guaranteed? What are you smoking?

Yes, the incumbent owners of USL1 teams in both markets are more than wealthy enough to buy in to MLS. But then again so is Mark Cuban (Dallas), Malcolm Glazer (Tampa), Paul Allen (Seattle/Portland), George Steinbrenner (Tampa) and others that have had the opportunity and passed.

And the CFL would stop them how? There has been lots of talk about putting a football team into Toronto, and I believe there was even a group that put a bid during the last expansion. The one things that has stopped them has been a gentlemen agreement between the two leagues since the CFL tried to open expansion teams here in America.

1.The group that is interested in bringing the NFL to Toronto is the combined Rogers/MLSE group. Hmmm let's see what they already own/operate- The Jays/Leafs/Raptors/TFC/Marlies/Air Canada Centre/ Ricoh Centre/ BMO Field/Rogers Centre/. They also control most of the media/ Rogers cable/CTV/Toronto Star/ Globe and mail/TSN/ Rogers Sportsnet etc

2.Paul Godfery(blue jays president) has gone on record saying that they already drew up blueprints to tear down the hotel at the rogers centre to add additional seating that the NFL requires as a short term stop gap until they either convince the NFL that the Rogers Centre is a suitable permanent home or they build a new football only venue.

But we are going off topic..

Montreal would be more likely Vancouver presents logistical problems. Plus the league is only increasing to 18 teams. FIFA wont allow more.

FIFA would allow it. they just don't condone it as far as i know. FIFA believes the ideal size is 18 teams, but they can't really force that on anyone. especially since two of the world's best leagues (EPL and La Liga) have 20 teams.

FIFA just want a 34 games season. No matter the number of teams.

Funny the last time we looked at what goes on in Politics Ontario puts 22 billion in Ottaw's pockets every year. Unlike the Have not provinces Like BC.

I really hope the Montreal and Vancouver get MLS teams. Look at the support TFC is getting. Two more teams in Canada would be great. Look at the owners of both Vcr and Mtl. Big deep pockets.

So, because TFC gets great support that means that any other Canadian city will, too?

Those owners don't count, they're not necessarily the ones that would get the MLS teams. Hell, I don't even think they are really interested.

You have to pay more to get everything you want.

Yeah, give it 5 years and see if Toronto still gets the same support.

However, history shows that Montreal and Vancouver has huge soccer support. When was the last time a city in Canada or the USA got 150,000 people out to a parade after winning a soccer championship? Vancouver did in 1979.

Why? Because they're in the same country? It's 330 miles from Montreal to Toronto (I drove it last week).

Buffalo (two hour drive), or even Rochester (three), would probably make a better rival for Toronto than Montreal would.

Why not? An all Canada derby would be GREAT! Toronto and Montreal fans hate each other like Yankee and Red Sox fans hate each other. I can also picture a rivalry between Montreal and the Revs. Hey, it's a better rivalry combination than anything KC has going for itself now, unless they move to the Western Conference or to Phillytown. As for Rochester, they HAD their chance to join MLS, and Buffalo...
