Dear all,

I'm desperately looking for some facts and figures on football clubs in Latin America (Argentina, Brasil, CHile, Mexico).
I would need to have information on the size of fanbases for the most successful clubs in each of the countries, also average stadium attendacy would be very helpful.

I would appreciate it a lot if you could help me with links or other sort of information.

Thanks!

CHeers Karl

Most popular: Boca
2nd is River

Independiente
Racing
San Lorenzo are the next biggest teams

Velez
Rosario
Newells
Estudiantes
Gimnasia
are second tier teams (though Gimnasia and Newells are playing bad at the moment)

River has the biggest stadium
River sells more tickets, but Boca has more associates (which dont count towards the ticket count) and have more people in the stadium (like when River gave us 3000 tickets put there was 8000 fans in the stadium)

River sells the most tickets and has had the best average attendance in almost every tournament in the last 10 years, despite not winning many of them.

Boca.. have more people in the stadium (like when River gave us 3000 tickets put there was 8000 fans in the stadium)

That is nothing to proud of. Just because La 12 are best friends with La Policia Federal, so they are allowed to bring in 5,000 more people without tickets, doesn't mean anything. Trust me, if River could, we'd take a million people to La Bombonera, but we take the same amount as tickets sold. Doesn't mean we couldn't take more, though.

But you don't bring more people. ;)
On away games, Boca always brings more people than the actual ticket amount

Also, tickets sold goes to River, but attendance I think goes to Boca, or is at least a lot closer than the difference between tickets sold

you guys can argue all you want but we all know who the best team as far as fans go. San lorenzo. look when we were losing 7-1 last year you didn't hear the boca fans, and even after that the stadium was full. we don't have fans of moron, or temperly. our fans are ciclon fans, who give it there all game after game, we don't start violence for the most part, and yet for 90 minutes home or away we make the atmosphere like it should. so boca and river can argue all they want but the true team in argentina is CASLA :D :D

ya, you couldn't hear the Boca fans  all you could hear were the San Lorenzo fans swearing at their players and whistling them, what great fans.
Then they threatened their coach and players the following Tuesday at their team practice.

Anyways, this will be a never ending arguement, so lets just agree that River and Boca are the top 2. Then probably San Lorenzo and RAcing.

And the worst fans are Independiente. They were already swearing at their players for losing the first game of the season
