is there any chance of an away match advantage like in the CL?
Hopefully Osna can do it...No harm to Paderborn because it's a respectable small club that seems to be improving as a FOOTBALL team (off the pitch too) the new stadium really helped that...

But anyways I'd rather see Osna over Paderborn in the 2nd liga.
Osna i hate to say will always have special place in my heart... i have this sympathy so viel glueck VfL Osnabrück :o

Yeah, there is one.

After Paderborns 1-0 home win, Osnabrück needs a 1-0 to reach extra-time
or a win with 2 goals to prevent relegation.

*sigh*

Time to tear this team apart. I'm not sure how many are gone because of their contracts becoming void with the relegation. This is going to be tough, especially with the debt the team has right now because of the new seating area.

Honestly though, if you don't score one goal against a team from the third league, you don't belong in the second league.

However... wir sind die Osnabrücker - wir sind immer da!

I'd much rather see Osna in the 2nd liga...

Time to get some foreign talents in the squad.

They will prolly rebuild the squad, where the players come from is unimportant,
it must fit. I remember an US american playing there, so if such players have contact and give good tips, I could see them signing some foreign talents, otherwise not, because the club doesn´t have the money to do big scouting.

They made a public statement a while back about only signing German players (or players who speak German). The game is changing and you need to be open to signing talents from where you can and not eliminate the non-German players.

Ups, I didn´t get that. Well they really only have a few foreigners in the squad (4). Their last signing of a foreigner was prolly a Brazilian defender last summer.

Yep, that was the statement that Gans made a while back. I've been following the club for the past 10 years or so.

As bitter as the relegation was, the Pokal win today over Rostock was quite thrilling. There was a point in the middle when a foul was called every 15 seconds, but the end had me on the edge of my seat. Nice job, guys! :D

UGH. I wish I weren't back the USA now. That would have been one of the most incredible games in my life!

I've been reading about it on German websites, but does anyone know of highlights from the match?

Congratulations guys. What a huge win. Those sorts of results are always so exciting for the neutral observer, so I can only imagine how it must feel as a non-neutral.

I can't wait till my buddy Holger emails me his report.
