Leicester City v. West Bromwich Albion (24 Feb) [R]

Albion will travel the relatively short distance to Leicester tomorrow afternoon to face the Foxes.

At this latter stage of the season, Leicester appear to be one of those clubs who are neither seriously challenging for the play-offs nor are threatened with relegation. Albion have been able to get results against some of our tougher opponents recently, but we've occasionally looked dull against more ordinary opposition. Hopefully there will be no let-down tomorrow as the team should be backed by a decent travelling support.

Curtis Davies will be back having served his one-match ban, so there should be no selection problems for Mowbray tomorrow.

A draw is probably what we deserved this afternoon as the match was a game of two halves. We had the better chances in the first half and had Paul Henderson's goal under siege. Unfortunately, all we were able to manage was a penalty earned and taken by Diomansy Kamara. Leicester were able to equalise on a set piece toward the end of the first half, a header by defender Gareth McAuley.

In the second half, we were mostly lucky not to concede a winner to the Foxes who had the lion's share of the chances. We also could have snatched a late winner as well, but failed.

Former Albion hero Geoff Horsfield (stress former) appeared to have purposely struck Paul McShane in the first half with an elbow - an incident which referee Uriah Rennie seemed to have missed. Tony Mowbray was fuming at the ref after the Horse made an ass of himself, but there was no booking. :mad:

Fortunately, results in the Championship went our way and now we are level with Derby at the top of the league, and ahead just on goal difference. :D
