This match is at home.

The team seems to be drifting along with no rudder right now. A big scalp would be a boost going into the stretch.

I'd like to see a little more effort and heart than what we showed against Spurs last weekend.

No Rosenior, Niemi, Pearce and Montalla. I think that means we'll see the twin towers again.

Hopefully the ref will let us actually set up for free kicks before Man U is allowed to take them. ;)

I'll take a draw, but I want their scalps tomorrow.

I agree, a scalp would be amazing against the EPL frontrunners right now. Hopefully the defense will shore up and not do the spotty job they did against Spurs. We're going to need top-notch jobs from everybody, Honza, McBride, Bouba Diop, you name it, to win this one. My fear is that cookie will go with a formation looking something like this:

McHead
M
D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D
GK
Basically do what we did against Chelsea...play Red Rover with ManU in hopes that we can pull a draw. But if we do that, we won't score doodly squat. I'll be watching at Phoenix Landing, a Liverpool bar that attracts a good number of ManUre fans, so it should be entertaining. C'mon, let's get a lively discussion going. This is a big match!

I have to disagree.

I think Cookie will let them play.

We have Brownie back and I am sure that he was sorely missed vs. Spurs.

We have to see more out of Davies and Smertin.

Unfortunately, if we actually go out and play them we're probably going to get our heads kicked-in. But we've played some positive football this year like against Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle.

I'd rather die with our boots on than lose in a bunker.

Looks like a 4-5-1 for Fulham today with probably twin CDMs (Smertin, Diop).

Lastuvka, Volz, Bocanegra, Christanval, Rosenior, Radzinski, Brown, Diop, Smertin, Davies, McBride

Bench : Warner, HH, John, Routledge, Dempsey

Man U completely screwed up the play... Wrong read by Van Der Sar. McBride's shot deflected off Brown, then off the post and then it looked as if Ferdinand had a chance to clear off the line, but he knocked it in. As crazy as that sounds, I think Brian still gets the goal.

Fulham dominating thus far... MU hasn't woke up yet.

Halftime at the Cottage. 1-1. McBride on a perfectly placed shot. Giggs answers near the 1/2 hr mark with a left-footed cracker. Lastuvka with no chance.

COME ON YOU WHITES ! ! !

We didn't deserve anything from that game. Great performance from Fulham. Full credit to Coleman.

Ach, how frustrating. So close until 87th minute. Well, great job from our side, they played well and honestly looked like the better team at several points.

How'd Dempsey do?

Not bad, usual had a couple good tackles and nice touches, but nothing remarkable. Ronaldo got past him and Christianval for the final goal

At the Fulham FC messageboard, Dempsey is getting criticized heavily for not wiping out Ronaldo. They think he should have taken a yellow card to stop him. Others are defending him saying Coleman told him to back off Ronaldo. I don't know what the truth is, but Ronaldo ran through him to score the winning goal.

In all honesty, Demps wasn't the only one schooled on that run. Duece, Volz, and Christanval all were left in Ronaldo's dust. And Lastuvka probably still makes the save if it doesn't take a deflection. Tough luck on that one.

Yea, I think Lastuvka would have gotten a hand on it, but it deflected off Christianval's leg to put it just past him.

alex ferguson claims it was the toughest game he had all year. if you note, he had 4 of the league's top goal-scorers (Rooney, Ronaldo, Saha, Larsson) on the pitch by the end of the match. shame about deuce missing the tackle but otherwise he was okay.

Agreed. If only we played this well against other teams in the middle of the table/bottom. Then I think our ranking situation would be a bit more impressive. Hopefully this match will spark something in terms of morale and the Whites will school Villa this Saturday.

I hope the team takes inspiration from how well they played; it would be shame for them to come away deflated after coming away empty-handed. They deserved some sort of result for that effort.
