3-0 is a spanking? Wow, BC hockey has gotten to the point where you're celebrating a win over a 9th place team? :p

My mistake! Congrats on covering the spread!

P.S. for all the talk about a 'down year'.... we're #8 in the country now & on the rise... eat it

As a Husky, I don't like UML much either but man...BC is sad. That's like the US getting all hyped over beating Jamaica.

I don't know about that ... basically anytime BC plays a real team in any sport, they lose. So at least they're predictable. :D

BC? You mean Beanpot Chokers?

BC? You mean Beanpot Chokers?
Like that one time where they could have gone to the BCS had they only beaten a crappy Syracuse team at home ...

Oh wait... :p

(still waiting for the obligatory at least our school has a football team post). ;)

1. Yes, yes I do - the safest city in America (OK, 3rd this year) and a damn good place for a school. Unlike in the middle of a slum (Lowell, NU)

2. At least our school has a football team

3. Who cares about the Beanpot? We play our tournaments in April. We've made the Frozen Four like 6 out of the past 8 years.

4. Florida State not a real team in football? Michigan State in bball? Maine, BU, Wisconsin in hockey? Dream on

Everyone hates on us but it's OK... I totally understand.:p

As long as you don't go to MaryAnne's, it's fine.

2. At least our school has a football team
I love predictability.

3. Who cares about the Beanpot? We play our tournaments in April. We've made the Frozen Four like 6 out of the past 8 years.
With the recruits you get, that's a good thing. But in general, the top programs are relatively consistently there, so this isn't anything special. BTW, I know this is probably a senior course, but it's 6 times in 9 years. ;)

Of course, you do have one thing ... at least you've been there and won. I wish the Revs could say that.
4. Florida State not a real team in football? Michigan State in bball? Maine, BU, Wisconsin in hockey? Dream on
Florida State finished 7-6 this year. That's who you're using to prove your point. Ouch! Hell, I'd have at least said that you beat 3 of the four ranked teams you played. But you did beat the powerhouses of Maine, Central Michigan, Buffalo and Duke. :p

Michigan State is in the middle of the Big 10. The Big 10 is currently ranked the 4th of the top 6 conferences in America. Again, not a good way to prove your point. BC's 2-3 against teams that were ranked when they played each other. And I already made my comment about your hockey team. So there! ;)

Everyone hates on us but it's OK... I totally understand.
Good. It's too much fun to stop. Heh.

There's a difference between 'powerhouse' and 'real team.' You can argue that we're not that good against powerhouses (but who is?). But the 'real team' comment is out of line.

I'm not sure I get the 'well you'd better make the Frozen Four with those recruits' comment. We get those recruits because we're awesome. Point proven. Game, set, match.

Also:
'The top programs are consistently there...'
---yeah, we're one of those top programs. Uh.. thank you?

Did you call NEU a slum? Seriously?

Dude, have you ever even been to NEU? We're on Huntington Ave. in the shadow of the Prudential Tower. The creepiest thing we get is the one-armed push up guy and the LaRouche fascists.

Call me when your school is done playing Ultimate Frisbee in their Birkenstocks and start to, you know, do something.

UMass Lowell's not in a slum either. You ever been there? It's actually not that bad. It's called a joke dumbass. Monty seems to get that. You don't. I've been to NU [in Boston it's just NU not NEU] hundreds of times, thanks very much, usually to cheer on your hockey team. Take a chill, will ya?

As for your second comment, that's a pretty laughable comment to be directed at a school with one of the highest rates of volunteerism and community service, not just in Boston, but around the world. Inner-city and international service programs here are so popular that you have to actually apply for spots in them. But then, by your standards, maybe that's not 'doing' anything - once we start rioting and getting shot by rubber bullets, maybe we'll fulfill your definition of 'doing something,' chump.

It's all well and good to be located in the heart of Boston's cultural/intellectual environment but vomiting on the steps of the MFA doesn't count as 'using the city's resources.'

^ I realize that that comes across as rather angry and combative so I just want to mention & make sure you know that this is all in fun. I presume you're having fun too...

Victoria Snelgrove - Emerson student. The guy who was run over after the Pats win - unrelated to NEU.

And yes, we call it NEU, interchangeably with NU. I go there, I would know.

Just, you know, FYI. The whole co-op thing we have and you don't is what I was referring to about 'doing something'. You go have fun bouncing wiffleballs off your castle classrooms, we'll be out here making money and learning how to actually succeed post-diploma. And how to navigate the real Boston.

C'mon you Huskies.

Ah boo hoo! ;)

Not necessarily. It's a chicken or the eggs thing. Or did you forget how bad the Eagles were just over a decade ago, when Lowell was beating BC pretty regularly. Marty Reasoner's committing to BC helped change things around in terms of recruiting, and slowly the big names started to head to BC. And with a great coach like York, it now continues. Like I said, chicken/egg. :)

Also:
'The top programs are consistently there...'

Yeah, I complimented BC. Don't get used to it. :p On top of that, while I may not like the BC program (or many of the egotistical fans, which I don't consider you at ... yet!), Jerry York gets all my respect.

BC must be doing something right, since most of our graduates are extremely successful... have you ever been around BC?

Y'know, that Harvard place doesn't have co-op. That school must suck. Its graduates? Complete nobodies..
