Similar to the scarf order we would like to do a bulk order of T shirts to save money. The goal being two-fold, have as many people as possible in SoB stuff for 3.24, but also to have stuff ready to go before then just in case.
Would you rather have a navy shirt or a sky blue shirt? The SoB logo will be one color - yellow on navy or navy on sky. Vote above - but be registered first.
To wit - shirts will be $12 and PayPal will be accepted. Order forms will be available on sonsofben.com next Friday

Course if we get 20 orders of each - we'll do both - I just want to see if there's any preference yet.

Any chance we could see proto-type images of these 2 choices?
Thank you.

Thanks Andy.
Thats a tough one, but I think I like the color scheme of navy/yellow better.

but of course ...http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/2737/sobtshirtnavyyellowlogoas3.th.jpg (http://img412.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sobtshirtnavyyellowlogoas3.jpg) What a great, fearsome look - like a negative. HAS TO BE the Choice!
Dills, you know, this might just work for the PRIMARY design - easy to print on white or other light colors, and the prob I was concerned about originally w/ the oar and scythe getting lost on a white (banner?) bkgrnd are resolved. Though I realize that a solid, dark bkgrnd such as this can present repro and laundry issues.
Hmmm, just occurred to me - in fact, if you NOW 'color' the skull and crossbones white (and make the eyes, nose, and mouth-slit navy), they should really POP! But, I just realized, that would probably negate the negative (what?? - how's THAT for 'double negatives', Bry') effect which is so effective (is that a 'double positive'?).
I hereby anoint you the Accidental Genius of Graphic Design.

because of the design of the logo, and the asymmetry (http://www.tfd.com/asymmetry) created with the use of the oar and scythe as 'crossbones', the center of the image (based on the entire width), does not coincide with the assumed center of the logo, the line that would pass between the top/bottom points of the lozenge/kite.
this may be an issue when it comes to creating swag for the SoB, as we'd have to explain what part of the image needs to be centered. cafepress uses the physical center of the logo on their products, and not the design-intended center axis (http://www.tfd.com/axis) (if you will), which makes it look like they screwed up.
i don't think it'll be too much of a hassle, but i wanted to garner (http://www.tfd.com/garner) everyone's opinions before i do anything. should the scythe be 'pulled in' so that the rightmost extent of the logo is equidistant (http://www.tfd.com/equidistant) from the center axis as the leftmost extent of the logo?
if i'm using terms that are too technical for you, i'll be happy to dumb things down a notch.
:p

Just instruct them to use the vertical axis line as the center point.
There does not appear to be so much difference in the oar and scythe that the resulting orientation will look 'off-center.' To the naked (that's for Bryan's consumption & deelight) eye, I don't believe the skew will be apparent.

my sentiments exactly ... cafepress would seem to be better with small logo items, where it's not full-size, centered on a t-shirt.

Navy looks like it has enough traction to open an order.

No, we will be doing an order with a local printer. At cafepress, you pay a little bit more for freedom of variety.

I have a few questions:
No offense but $12 for a single color t-shirt is pretty expensive. Especially in light of the fact that they shouldn't cost more than $6 to produce. Is the mark up designed to generate funds for the SOB treasury or are they being done by a company that charges more than the industry standard?
Are the t-shirts 100% coton or 50/50 & what brand are they? I can't imagine I'm the only one out hear who consider this info important. 50/50 tees are typically more expensive so I'm hoping for $12 the SOBT is.
I'm also confused by the color choices in light of the fact that the official colors are sky blue & yellow. I know from past experience that this combo presents contrast problems as far as clearly differentiating the logo from the background. A secondary color for outline/ shadowing can easily clear up the problem. While it does increase the base cost of the shirts by adding a second color my opinion is that it would be worth it if the outcome is a superior image/ product. With all due respect, doesn't settling for a color scheme other than the SOB's official colors fall short of the mark? A second color is obviously a serious concern to the bottom line/ final cost but I'd be willing to pay more for a better tee than one that is done for convenience's sake. We can easily find a retail outlet that can produce 2 color 50/50 tees for substantially less than $12 (IF that reflects our cost).
I don't intend this as me taking shots at those of you who have put in the work/time/ effort on this project. I appreciate it. I'm just trying to throw some questions/ suggestions out that may help to make the final product improved.
Thanks for listening!

how does $10/12 sound? hand delivery and snail mail, respectively.
the $12/15 we originally quoted was before we received the bid from the t-shirt shop, including art setup, etc. now that we have spoken to them, the prices have been changed accordingly.

the shirts are in, and a big thanks to B76 for picking them up. to those who will be at the KiXX game tomorrow, plan on getting your hands on them in the parking lot/tailgate. everyone else will either have them delivered by our faithful US postal service, or will need to make arrangements with me/B76 for a hand-delivery.
here's a little something to hold you over until you get your very own piece of swag. and no, it doesn't really glow like that. :p
