I am watching the DC United v. CD Olimpia and noticed some very strange fan banners hanging about. Alot of upside down crosses one of them with an upside down pentagram and one word I could make out "Dementos". Another witht the word CAOS where the A was the Anarchy A, another with thte word "Vampiros" and another with the word "Blasfemos"....and then there was another with a Pagan symbol that looks like a line with a large U disecting it.
Thought it was weird and it almost seemed like they were playing in a Pagan temple rather than a football pitch :)

Yeah those were very interesting to say the least... The one that really shocked me was the upside down cross with the barb-wire wrapped around it... one word... "WTF?"

dementos? no
it said 'dementes' or locos for the club
some extreme fan club use that word in many places of the large continent
vampiros? the blood suckers show up with some barras
blasfemos and other pagan signs, I did not see

Don't know what happened, I could only listen to the game through internet radio, yet the announcers never said anything about that. Weird, and really don't like that, its bad Karma!

There is no need to open that can of worms. I watched it on TV, back to back, first English than Spanish and either team never commented on the banners. They did comment on the fans chants, and the passion they were showing... But the Hispanic announcers chose to ignore the "pongan huevos" one for obvious reasons. :D

I was curious about those "strange" banners, so I did a quick search, and found these:

Plus a bunch more at:

On a regular context they can be considered strange, but to be honest that kind of banners are pretty common in Latin American stadiums.
