Apols I can’t find the thread that im sure discussed this already…

Im looking for the place that does the official England letters and no’s (chris kay? Or that just for prem?), and some info on how to print them myself. JJB has once again dropped the ball with it’s “official England retailer” deal and won’t print what I want done becoz of some BS about copyright…

Suffice to say im literally giving up with that place, how it gets away with these big coups then executes them soooooo badly I’ll never know!

It was Bigg who had the address of the place that sold the numbering and lettering. But when i had a look on there a lot of the stuff that they had was old. So i doubt they would have the current numbering etc.

JJB will actually sell you the numbering and lettering. They aren't breaking any kind of copyright by doing that. I've had friends do that in the past. Then you can either take it to a printers and have them put it on for you. Or can see if you can work out how to do it yourself.

Sports soccer also do shirt printing. So you can try there. They were saying they would put anything on a shirt at the weekend when the guy infront of me asked as long as you paid for it.

What do you want printing on your shirt that is such a big deal anyhow?

JJB can be arses though. I wanted Giggsy printing on my away shirt. And because it wasn't an 'official' team name. Although it is only 1 extra letter. They charged me for the number and all the lettering. I don't see how they can do that when its only £5 to have something massive like in the old days V.Nistelrooy 10. They are a rip off and half the time don't even print it in the correct place on the shirt.

I did give in and get the england shirt from sports soccer at the weekend. I was going to have something like Wazza 9 on the back but couldn't be bothered to pay any extra money for a shirt which i already think is over expensive for how thick the material is! So i opted for a pre-printed Rooney shirt.

I know this isnt really any help but thought i'd join in your rant!!

I bet the deal with teh Giggsy thing was that since it wasn't the official name, they didn't the official lettering for it. They would probably have to special order i. It seems like a lot of the printings have the full name together, probably to make it easier to print it correctly.

Around me there isn't many places to get lettering or anything, I was wondering if you knew any websites that would ship authentic lettering, that I could try to put on myself.

It would be nice to put Miga on my new Mexico shirt or atleast get Essien for my Chelsea Euro kit.

The didnt have to order it. JJB carry all the letters in a big tray. And they print each one on one by one. So i don't really see why they couldn't let me have Giggs for £5 and charge me for the extra 'Y' being as i brought the shirt from that store and thats the deal.

Case is right, JJB can get away with things because not many stores offer a printing service. JJB is probably the first store you think of excluding club shops if you want printing. But i think now sports soccer are offering a printing service they might have to have a re-think as it won't be so exclusive.

This isn't going to help Case much, but the issue of shirt printing generally seems to bring up problems anywhere in the world!

Problems just seem to crop up most times. The local shops in South Africa have the official EPL writing, in player size I think, but they are missing so many of the popular letters and the #1 that it is impossible to print any name.

When they did have more of the letters availible, I had REYES 9 printed on my yellow/blue away shirt from the Unbeaten season. I gave them clear instructions how to print it, with the name in a straight line, but they curped it instead, so I walked outta the shop wihout paying.

I got FABREGAS put on my Spain shirt back in 2004
(yes, I was a founder of the Cesc craze) and they printed it skew...and told me they wouldn't charge me, nevermind the fact they messed up my shirt!

Anyways, thanks to Case I never had a problem with this seasons Arsenal shirt, but come July I'll be getting my Arsenal away shirt from The Armoury at the Emirates Stadium complete with printing and sleeve patches!
Did you guys know thay they have about 10 or so of the printing machines lined in a row! I think their must be a total of 3 of those machines in the whole of bloody Cape Town!

BTW, how do you guys feel about printing on your shirts when you are playing in them? My shirt with GILBERTO 19 on it in felt printing makes my back so hot and sweaty it is unpleaseant.

In Los Angeles there aren't really chain stores that carry any soccer related stuff, but there the little stores that carry shirts and some print but they don' t have all the authentic lettering without ordering, that was fine for putting a nonofiial Miga on my US jersey but in other cases I want to get the real stuff.

Haha. just remembered, thinks R&W's Fabs is the only time I got printing at JJB when it went smoothly for me!

Yea my plan is to now get the shirt printed officially, then buy the additional letters and DIY it!

Only I'll need to be in a good mood to brave that place again, I get a headache just thinking about it!

No Apps is just curious coz the shop has changed their policy to seemingly friendlier, as now you can get ANY NAME ANY NO. for just £5, so she's curious what I wanted doing that they wouldn't....

I'll spill if my dream is ever crushed, but til then I don't wanna ruin the surprise when I post pics on here!

In truth it's not that interesting, but hey, I love the attention!

hey R 'n' W, i remember you mentioned about the prem getting new style name and numbers from next season, is there any pics, as i cant find any anywhere. I think the prem are wrong to get rid of the present style as they have been like that for as long as i remember.

BTW im still bitter bout jjb for not letting me get J.S.PARK on the back of my united shirt!

Wow, you guys are lucky. We have one chain here that does printing on shirts, and for the official letters and numbers (i.e. EPL, LFP, etc.) it's $45 (20 quid). And that's if your lucky and they have it in stock. As far as the quality of the printing, I bet you none of them have ever been trained, so they just do whatever.

I guess you have to resort to preprinted shirts, exoribitant prices, or trying your own luck ironing it on yourself.
