Anyone ever bought a sleeve patch or name and number set--from ebay, for example--and applied it to a jersey themselves? How hard/easy is the application process, and would you recommend it?

it can be done, but it's not recommended as your typical house iron isn't able to reach the recommended temperature.
i've never applied a patch, but i have applied a number.
i just placed and flattened a jersey on an ironing board. i placed a pillow case over the jersey and number and ironed it for about 30-40 seconds. i let it cool down and did it again. so far it hasn't fallen off after several washes.

I did it with PL patches that I got from Subside Sports...didnt have a problem, put it on the floor (which was chipboard as no carpets were down at the time) put a teatowel over it, ironed it for 1 minute (moving the iron), left it for two minutes, ironed it for another minute, was fine.

You can remove it But you have to peel of the number little by little with your hand!!! which takes hours. It's going to leave some little bumps and left over pieces of number but if your careful and dedicated to do it you can get it off
put it in the dryer for 30 mins the numbers come right off.

Hi Guys,
Being in South Africa we have had this problem for so long. I have a sports store in Johannesburg and finally am getting some joy with the EPL printing. This store is really my hobby and I was forced to open it just to finally get some results with the official printing.
I now have my own press in my store and import the official EPL lettering, numbers & sleeve badges. I now offer fellow supporters a service that allows really personalised service where they can sit down with me and decide exactly how they want the shirt printed - be it straight, curved, letters on top or bottom or both, kids kits printing, even printing on the official tees not just the supporters shirts - plus they do not have to buy the shirts from me but can bring in their own shirts and we can do the printing for them.
We carry stock on each letter and number (excl short numbers) in-store unless something is out of stock - which is then about 2 weeks lead time. Normally we stock the popular white and navy lettering for the current season.
Also it is same day printing in-store, and we take our time, as we replace the shirt if we mess it up. We also sell and wholesale the lettering to customers outside our city or they can post their shirt to us and we post it back printed.
After years of trying to get this done elsewhere, the only solution was to do it myself.
Only if you love the game and truly appreciate your team and merchandise will you realise the importance of printing a shirt perfectly - even one messed up shirt is too many - thats why you should replace the shirt if you mess it up.
I know it may not assist many of you that are not in SA but just wanted to let you know that we are trying to make a small difference for a few of the supporters here in SA.
Thx

Well hello there!
Here, you have a member right from Cape Town.
What are your prices, as well as shipping costs to send a few down?
I am right in thinking that you have the lextra printing, and not the plastic type?
Thanks :)

Apologies to dig up a thread from December, but this seems like the appropriate one for my question.
A letter of the official printing on one of my shirts is beginning to peel. For the record, if it makes a difference, it's an Adidas Real Madrid home shirt from 2004-05. Any suggestions for how to reapply the letter?
I've already tried a very hot iron with a tea towel for 30 seconds, and all I got was an iron mark on my tea towel. What's the next possible fix? Superglue?

I had the same problem and took it to a local sporting goods store that applied numbers to jerseys besides those for jerseys. I didn't buy the jersey at the store and they reapplied the letters for no charge! I would have paid them a small amount to do it. But, they wouldn't take anything.

I have a 2009/2010 Ireland away jersey - I am looking for the official letters and numbers?
Any ideas from anyone?
