Countdown to Make fun of Bryan76

Alright, I will take my beatings this time. I humbly step before you and offer that there will be an announcement made on or before my birthday this year. I'm probably wrong, at which point I will take my beatings.

Reasons for my belief

According to sources one bid has already been received - it is thought to be the Chester bid. Less is known about the other bidder, only that MLS extended the bid window to allow them to complete their bid. The bid window is supposed to close Feb. 28th AND at that time all real estate holdings, stadium plans, local approvals, and funds should be immediately available and in possesion of the bidder.

If this is true and an announcement is made, the Sons of Ben should be invited. I chose March 13th selfishly when really it could be any date before the season starts. But I would try to make the biggest media splash by preceeding March Madness. Hopefully this all works out. When it does, there will be such a rise in interest in this board that Steve's Scarf Machine, Calcio's Formatting, and OKTerrific's O&A Man Crush will be considered inside jokes instead of board knowledge.

Consider me optimistic and make fun of me when it blows up. It has been in my sig since the beginning of January.

It would be a great birthday present. If we have enough time to organize, we will have flags, drums and enough interested folks to really make an impact at the announcement of Philadelphia (Football Club, Independence, Athletic, etc.).

Oh - also the Sons of Ben would like to petition for the use of Philadelphia Flag colors for the team - a lot of people also like Green and White.

the last prediction bryan had was sometime in mid-november. and for those who weren't aware, SP and i made sure he knew time was running out. may i refer you to page 2 of THIS THREAD (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=418949&page=2), starting with post #24.

that said, i didn't know b76 all that well then. so now, if his latest prediction doesn't come true, he has no idea what he's in store for.

Although I don't have his confidence in an exact date, being privy to similiar info and sources as Bryan, I tend to agree that an announcement should be soon.
