I also like that they put FC in there even with a name. Like Blackburn Rovers FC rather than just Chicago Fire.
I don't like MLS teams using Real, FC, and United. Since it isn't applicable to 99% of the teams (I can probably go along with DC United), why throw it in for cheap marketing? Chicago Fire is the best name, with the best logo.

Well lets not be too harsh on teams using the name United when it doesn't apply... Man Yoo did that over 100 years ago despite the fact there were other big teams in the Manchester area (apparently they thought it sounded good... marketeers from the beginning ). Guess which team were the first to be called "United" as a football club? Which made sense since it was the combination of Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End, and the only f*cking club in the city. Little known fact there people.
With Real Salt Lake is it pronunced "Real (English)", "Ree-al(English trying to be Spanish)", or "Hee-al" (closer to how Real Madrid is pronounced by spaniards?)

BG is 2 hours to Cbus and probably 2 hours to Cleveland. Gotta take the Ohio Turnpike to get to Cleveland though from BG, cost ya +$2. Just head down 75 to 23 for Cbus for free.
Ever hear of Route 2? You can always avoid the tolls. CCS tickets are much cheaper, too. :p
I drove to DC a week ago and avoided both the PA and OH turnpikes. It cost me about 10 bucks extra in gas by my estimate but I saved $25 in tolls. And it didn't take me much longer.
As for BG to Cleveland, according to mapquest it takes only one minute longer when you avoid the tolls and it is actually 10 miles shorter. Most of it is still freeway, and it's a much more scenic drive.

Check out the videos on the front page. Movie trailer quality (Joe Roth flexing his muscle). Incidentally the Roth connection is the reason TH14 is considering the Seattle offer. Apparently Msr. Henry aspires to be an actor.

TH14 to a Seattle MLS team when Alex Ferguson open mouth kisses Kevin Keegan.

United I can go with, because of, you know, the United States. Just sounds right (esp. for our nation's capital).
Chicago Fire I always found to be simultaneously cool and stupid. Why name your team after a disaster? That goes for you too, Carolina and Miami Hurricanes! "Oh, my home and everything I care about were completely destroyed by a hurricane! Oh, the game's on? Goooooo Hurricanes!" What's next, New Orleans Broken Levies FC?
Now San Jose Earthquakes just sounds dumb. Almost as dumb as Real Salt Lake. Whoever chose that should be beaten with a sock full of rusty nails.

Route 2 would be more scenic, just a little farther north(I assume route 6 to 53 to 2) and you'd hit Cedar Point traffic. Hardly any cops on the Turnpike though. Good to see the estimate was right, that the two cities are equidistant. Thanks for Moffat.
I'm glad Seattle went with Sounders FC instead of the original Emerald City FC. It'll be interesting if Keller comes back to the US next season to play for them, or if he goes to the Champ with Fulham.

I agree, but Sounders is just as good. And they totally avoided the poor naming that has plagued US sports over the past decades.

I've just been by the LAG forum, with them looking ahead to the weekend's game against TFC. For some reason I really, really hope Robert spanks in a free-kick missile (or 2) against them. Especially as I've seen some of their fans dismissing him off-hand. To quote KK I would love it. Beckham and Robert battling it out in a free-kick shoot out
Sorry to ToonUSA but c'mon Laurent bring back the glory days. (He'll always have a place in my heart as an ex-mag).

After tonight I think every Houston Dynamo supporter would chip in to buy Tony Caig a one way ticket back to the UK.

I'm pondering inventing the time machine and slapping whoever authorized the Wells for Boswell trade. No Caig if we don't make that (incredibly-stupid-looking on a number of levels) deal.
EDIT: Or maybe we should offer to keep Gretna afloat in exchange for taking him back.

Wells' side didn't fair too much better in this tournament.

Yeah, but Pachuca's Pachuca, and we're better than DCU. No offense to Saprissa, but they're not Pachuca.

I've always loved Robert and he definitely has a place in my heart as an ex-mag. It will be nice to watch him in the MLS.
And once again the Galaxy are the worst team in the league. Absolutely hilarious.

Honestly, how do you figure that? They have just as many points as your team. If anything, the results so far show that anybody can truly win this year.
Table so far:
Pos +/- GP W D L PTS GF GA GD
1 1 Chicago Fire (E1) 3 2 1 0 7 6 1 5
2 1 Kansas City Wizards (E2) 4 2 1 1 7 6 5 1
3 1 Colorado Rapids (W1) 3 2 0 1 6 7 3 4
4 2 Columbus Crew (E3) 3 2 0 1 6 6 5 1
5 3 New England Revolution 4 2 0 2 6 6 6 0
6 4 FC Dallas (W2) 3 1 2 0 5 6 4 2
7 4 Real Salt Lake (W3) 3 1 1 1 4 6 4 2
8 5 Chivas USA 3 1 1 1 4 7 6 1
9 4 Red Bull New York 2 1 0 1 3 2 2 0

Is it just me or does Robert look a lot like Blanco?
Ha Ha the Galaxy are awful. I hope Landon leaves for a real club during the next transfer window.
