Am I an asshat or a soccer nerd? ;)
Wait! Can I be both?
Heh, would have chimed in sooner but I was in DC last weekend and then spent midweek vomiting like the little girl from The Exorcist. I really hope whatever that illness was doesn't make it across the pond to infect you all, but I think some of my vomit may have made the trip.
Anyway, MLS Rumors posted good info about following the MLS earlier:
http://www.mls-rumors.net/2008/03/quick-guide-to-following-mls-from.html
Oh, and whereabouts in Ohio are you moving if you don't mind my asking? You could come and join The Green Army. (http://www.greenarmy.info)
Crap, forgot you had "DCU" listed under your teams. My bad. :o
Anyway, I'll be going to Bowling Green to finish up grad school...which is a bit far from Cleveland I think!

I hope Robert pulls something out of the bag for Toronto... they've got a little ex-Mag colony going on over there. John Carver (Legend for punching Craig Bellamy), Paul Winsper (ex-Fitness coach) Martin Brittain and Laurent Robert (I'd love to see Robert spank in a free kick against the Galaxy). I know he was a lazy c*nt but what a class player when he wanted to be... he came 1st and 2nd in the MOTD goal of the month contest from the same game (against Spurs too :D).
I know this is off topic... but in line with my previous interrogation of Yank Mags... Have you ever/do you have plans/dreams to go to SJP to see the lads in action (I feel pissed off paying £40 when we play shit... can't imagine what it would be like if I'd paid to cross an ocean).

I should probably go whilst still in Austria...but I'm running low on funds...40 quid is still a hell of a lot though! Is that the average price?? You can get a decent seat at the Allianz Arena for a fraction of that price!

Absolutely, the next time I'm in Europe I intend to go. But that won't be until my son is old enough to go with me, probably, so it's still 10 or so years off.

Well its complicated... Since Ashley took over they have this thing where you can become a "member" of the club for £30 (for one season)... which gives you priority ticket sales (after season tickets) and before they go on general sale (oh and a free tour of SJP)... As a non-season ticket holder myself (I can't f*cking afford it) paying £30 to buy tickets priced from £35-£40 is a piss take in my book. I don't know anyone who's been stupid enough to fall for this "member" shit.
Carling Cup and less glamorous FA Cup matches tend to be about £20 (unless you want to pretend to be under 16). Premier League you're talking £25-£50... and they bitch when we have no patience with them
EDIT: prices can be found here http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/MatchdayPrices/0,,10278,00.html - I know I'll go to hell for suggesting it but .. show up in a wheelchair?

Probably in the next few years or so after school and such. I was in Holland for a Euro Qualifier and I'll most likely be in Switzerland for Euro 2008 but I'm just sort of tagging along with Romanians there. My soccer dream trip would be taking in a Toon home and away match in the same week. And of course I've promised myself that when we make a cup final I'll be there, but we all know that's a piss take and at least 8 years off.

As Russell mentioned, tickets for disabled persons are only 12 quid! Enticing...we should all get together and take out each other's legs. Or just curse out the guy in the ticket booth and scream, "I AM handicapped, you f#ckhole, I have T-t-t-tourette's!!"
Not to thread-jack the thread-jack, but MLS results:
DC United 4-1 Maple Leafs
KC 3-2 Rapids (I hate the Rapids)
Red Bulls 2-0 Crew
Goats 3-1 Mormons

Toon old boyTony Caig played for Houston today and looked absolutely shell shocked in a 3-3 draw against FC Dallas.

Your cover may be blown if you leap out of your chair when Newcastle score... although I can see the headlines "KK's Newcastle heal disabled American"
I saw Beckham scored his first MLS goal... was pretty well taken I must say. But even I'm sick of hearing about Beckham in MLS and I'm on this side of the pond.
Tony Caig is in MLS now? Can't remember him ever getting a game seeing as he was 3rd choice keeper in the reliable Shay years.... How many other ex-mags are there in MLS? I bet Shola shows up in a couple of years  forming a deadly strikeforce with Chopra for the Cleveland f*cknuts or somesuch team.

As far as I know just Caig, Robert and Gullit (but we don't talk about those two). Caig won the USL title with Vancouver a while back, but yeah. Big jump between there and here.
And to think, we traded Zach Wells for Bobby Boswell and signed Caig to be the backup. Did we forget that Onstad is 40?

Imagine him playing for your team and you struggling to find a product in your team store that didn't have his name or picture on it. Had to un-click his name twice when buying my new strip.

Of course I'd love it! Not sure when it will happen. It'd be worth it regardless of the result.

John Carver is the manager of Toronto FC now so I imagine we'll see more ex-mags coming to MLS.

BG is 2 hours to Cbus and probably 2 hours to Cleveland. Gotta take the Ohio Turnpike to get to Cleveland though from BG, cost ya +$2. Just head down 75 to 23 for Cbus for free.
Crew looked awful for 10 mins on Saturday, then did their best BSA Newcastle impersonation for the next 80. Nice attack, but couldn't finish. Strange night for the ball movement. Although I've never heard of watering down an artificial pitch before.
At least the Mags won and the sun shown to save my weekend.

Sounds alright I suppose. Now hopefully all 35 of the Sounders Ultras will STFU.

I think it's a nice way of incorporating the history of soccer in Seattle into the new club name. Of course, they could have done something to that effect without utterly yoinking the USL club's name.
I also like that they put FC in there even with a name. Like Blackburn Rovers FC rather than just Chicago Fire.

I would've preferred Seattle Sounders SC. Just for alliteration's sake.

I never got the FC over SC in America. It just doesn't make sense.
