After 48 or so pages my query has finally been answered. What query you may ask? Well go back and read the first post on page one to see... I'll wait.
... Done? Great 'cause I haven't picked them; they have picked me. Its because of geographical and genetic circumstance and not trendwagon jumping. In other words I am fortunately (or in some cases unfortunately) instinctively unable to resist the call to arms of "I am looking over a four leaf clover" when it comes to a team from this great town, the Armpit of the East Coast: Philadelphia.
Yes It has been decided. Much like a Geordie cannot resist the call of the Toon, as an ExPat Pennsylvanian, I cannot resist the call of the Union.
"sigh"
Thank God for The Philadelphia Union. I don't have to pretend to enjoy the NYRB, DC United, New England anymore, in fact now I have a specific reason to hate them viscerally with a sarcastic passion and wild abandon. Nor do I have to geographically enjoy the Fire or the Sounders from my current perch; although I do admit to liking the Sounders, a lot.
Will this make the MLS more palatable for me? No because them Bums From Philly will be freakin' awful, an embarrassment, wholly unable to do anything right ever; but I'll have to watch 'cause its Philly and thats the way I was raised. The MLS will still suck and Philly will suck with it, except when we win, which will be because of the brilliant product we produce when we care of course.
Bastards.
I try to get away but they suck me back in.

The Seattle Sounders FC have sold more than 60,000 tickets for the match vs. Chelsea http://tinyurl.com/qt7h8p
We'll do the same for Barcelona.

Sweet! That's what I like to see.

Seattle is Soccer Mad.
I hope going forward, that MLS will learn from this and start trying to harder to pull in cities with a built in fan base for a USL or former NASL team. Portland, Rochester, Seattle, and Vancouver are all cities that could have incredibly successful franchises.
I'm hoping NYRB will sell the squad in the next few years and they can be properly rebranded as the NY Cosmos.

In order for that to happen, Red Bull GmbH will have to sell RBNY....which definitely won't happen, considering Red Bull Arena is opening in 2010.
Once Red Bull GmbH buys something, they stick with it.

Where have you been? Two of those you mentioned are joining Seattle. The PacNW is gonna show the rest of these hacks how it's done.

I realize that, I just lumped them all together in the same concept.
It will never happen, but I wish to God that someday the US would adopt th European model of promotion/relegation.
MLS
USL-1
USL-2
PDL
Otherwise, where is the motivation for lame duck front offices (NYRB) to pull their resources together to put a winning team on the field. Minimize the international player rules (require 4-5 American's on each club) and go with it.

Speaking of which if your ever going to be in town this summer there are a few matches I can't attend and your welcome to have my ticket. If you don't mind standing in GA with the ECS of course.

I may take you up on that. I plan on joining ECS at the first opportunity...whenever I can make it to Seattle that is. :o

I drank way too much but I was still up front for both goals. Noonan's cross was a thing of beauty.

Twas.
Great support once again at Qwest. Although, I must admit, while I don't have anything against Sounders FC, I think the jerseys are hideous. You guys look like Slimer from Ghostbusters.

I'll have to pass on the two dates you gave me, unfortunately. If another comes up later in the season let me know and I'll check into it. Thanks, though!
