I dunno. I went to LA last winter and my friend told me that I have to try In-N-Out, saying it's the best fast food burger ever. I was real excited and when I got there I ordered the cheeseburger single or whatever the heck they call it. I know In-N-Out is like a sacred fast food shrine to you Cali folk but I honestly didn't see the big deal. Maybe I shoul've gone for the double double or something. But next time around I'll give it another shot.

Hardee's is known as Carl's Jr in Northern and Southern California.

What about Wendy's? Great place for a burger in Ohio.

The one that matters is In and Out Burger because the burgers are fresh--however it's a California institution so at least there the place to eat!

What, no (gasp!) Chik-fil-a? Oh, the horror!

Btw, are there ANY Roy Rogers still around? I know of 2 in MD, but that's about it. Their sandwiches at least have REAL roast beef, not chipped "beef roll".

The big national chains suck. Evil ******************ing corporations. And I'm not a member of the Animal Liberation Front.

You've got to go local to get your best fast food. Not all of them are great but occasionally you'll find some good places.

Some local ones around where I live:

Doug's Dairy Twirl
Loui's Lunch
Tyrell's Barbaque
The Sandwich Inn

If you want that greasy spoon diner food served up in massive portions for less than $5 than you gotta go to the Waffle House.

other fast food - Krispy Kreme great place to go after drinking at 5 in the morning. (in the South we've had these for decades, I always assumed that they were everywhere).

BTW: I love those californians who stand for hours for Krispy Kreme and then complain that it wasn't quite as good as they thought it was going to be. :D GET A LIFE! hell what were you people expecting? its just a donought (damn good ones too but still donoughts.)

I bet this thread will build up loads of replies..
If someone asks the question "what's your favourite fast food joint?" on a board where there is loads of yanks...you can expect at least 500 replies..

There are a few Roy Rogers in Mass. Their stuff is pretty good as far as fast food goes.

IS this about mass produced burger joints. Burger King and Wendys are tops. Carl's Jr. is good too. They put thier burgers thru that machine. In and Out is o.k. The worst is absolutey McDonalds. The food sucks. I dont know how people can eat that food with Burger King or Wendys around. Its like saying lets go eat crap. Lets go to Crap Ronalds. The fries suck too. Everything tastes fresher and better with bigger portions at any other place but McDonalds.

I personaly like Jerrys. I like subs. They have decent pizza with reasonalbe prices too. Jerrys better than Slugway subs.

For burger joints its go to be Harvey's (not in any way shape or form related to Hardee's). They have wicked charbroiled veggie burgers (reg meat ones too) and poutine.
