to get into a players head. I know most of u prolley "let your playing do the talking" but for the rest of us,what do u do to get in the other player head. I'm a fan of grabbing on to players shorts during set pieces and keeping them close (I'm a fullback) and the usual trash talking. Im not a dirty player i just like to piss of their go to player. but what do u do that is cheap, dirty, or entertaining and i dont mean kicking them in the achilles.

well..i play defense/midfield and you really just need to let him know you're there constantly. if that means a nudge in the side, or a bit of a push then whatever. Personally i like to get into it a little bit more than that but as long as you don't take it too far, then i think it's cool. If you get any sort of reaction at all, then you're inside his head.

Another thing i picked up from the great Claude Makelele is to make a bunch of small, nagging fouls that stop the play and get on a lot of players' nerves.

Standing in front of free kicks gets the other team so riled up, I do that anywhere on the field. I hate it when people do it to me, but that is a good way to throw them of their game. I get a few cards every year just on that alone, so I should probably stop it.

I played outside back in college. I used to give the winger a nice hard shoulder hit the first time he came down the wing. It helped to send a message that I'm there. It was probably called about fifty percent of the time. Lots of my coaches came straight from Italy and they taught me all the little things to do that would piss people off. Pinching, tugging, the face pat, hair rub, etc. To be honest I was good enough that I really didn't need it, but I must admit I used it on occassion. Most of the players I played against were smart enough not to be bothered by verbal taunting.

Pinching is the worst!!! Usually a hard elbow to the body would quit the pinching. I am pretty good at fouling without getting caught.

as a keeper, sometimes i stand on the pk spot during corners. players are like wtf but i catch crosses that i normally wouldn't get to.

other times i turn to my defense and go "dude.. what if they score?" in a really serious voice and we all just start laughing.

I usually talk in a baby voice to the referee about something the guy did as if he was retarded (the opponent).
