Got into following cricket this summer.
I'm American that just loves sports and is very curious about
everything that life has to offer; no matter what country, language,
culture.

Ah, ok. Yes I am the same. I have no real "home base" if you will. Grew up in different countries with friends of lots of different nationalities.

But yeah, you're not going to have much luck with the england cricket team ;). I guess you missed the 5-0 ashes in australia?

I know Australia is the powerhouse of world cricket. I started following
cricket 3 months ago, didn't want to come off as a gloryhunter
supporting NZ for rubgy and Australia for cricket. Plus Monty was
the 1st cricketer that I knew of, lol.

I follow various sports and leagues around the world. Especially concerning
football...I am just too curious and passionate about life and the numerous
cultures around the world to have interest in just a few teams, sports/activities,
or leagues.

In the last 4 seasons of the 6Nations, England, they really have been struggling
Wales and France (3 times) won it.

I think New Zealand, France, South Africa, Australia are all stronger than
ENG right now. If O'Driscoll is healthy, Ireland could be included on this
list too.

I agree. I was quite suprised to see England beat France this year at Twickenham. France is easily the better team, and have showed it over the past two tests. I can see France making the final at the World Cup, as long as they can learn how to finish. The could've blown out England in Marseille on the week-end had they been sharper on the finish.

That's right, I forgot about ENG getting a win over Les Bleus @ Twickenham.
I think that was just a minor hiccup for the French and England got lucky.
ENG have chemistry issues and injuries. At the same time, to underestimate
them would be foolish. Didn't the Argentines beat England in ENG for
the 1st time ever this past year? ARG were so confident that day.

Did any one catch the France V Wales game? I missed it but I saw the result, I was curious how they looked. I was at the US Eagles V Munster game. It was ok I think the Eagles should of won it but our number 11 couldnt catch the ball if his life counted on it

It was really fun, the US started well but I think they gassed themselves out after the first half. But they are saying they want to start having more Rugby games there, and I hope that is true. It seems like the Midwest has a pretty active Rugby scene.

Sorry to hijack this thread...:(
Chicago has 1 of the best Rugby teams in the USA.
When I was in Northwest Ohio/Toledo area,
Toledo had a very good team too. They were 1 of the
best in their division, not the top flight of American Rubgy.

They are a definate contender, but to forget New Zealand would
be at your own peril.

New Zealand have been good but I think France can take them. And New Zealand will only get weaker as its players go overseas. So I am not sure what the future of the all blacks is going to be in 10 years or so.

The French team is exciting me so much. I really think this could be the year. I just bought my France World Cup poster. I hope it arrives before it starts.

Anyone found any better ways to pay for this/watch this? The only option for people who dont have satelite seems to buy the Setanta Broadband package online for 150....

Then you should give us updates, that way, we can decided if we really want to watch the game 2-days later on Versus.

BTW, I'm with you. Les Bleus all the way. Unfortunately, I couldn't swing a work boondoggle trip to Europe to see some of the games. Rats!

Oh, yeah, USA Number #1! Forza Italia!
