Not so nationally.

Did you mean to say '2007'?

FYI, fees can and do vary by assignor. There is NOT a standard game fee for D1, D2, or D3 throughout the entire NCAA.

What are your thoughts on the varying of fees by assignor? Shouldn't NISOA have some sort of standard?

NISOA can't set a standard. They are just a member organization and not an assigning body. It is not even a requirement to be a member of NISOA to referee college soccer. Many assignors use non-nisoa members to referee matches.

Also, it is not the assignor that set the fees. It is usually done by conference. For instance, Missouri Valley, Big Ten, and Big Twelve all pay different rates for game fees, per diem, and mileage. These are negotiated (usually by the assignor) for the referees. Many schools also pay different rates for conference and non-conference.

Locally we are very specific about NISOA members only doing games.

I think 99% of the time this is the case. Still, I would like to see the NCAA require it or at least require that people refereeing in the NCAA pass the NISOA/NCAA rules examination and fitness test.

Don't you miss the little pirowette (sp) in the middle of the sprint? :)

The NISOA fitness test is a whole other thread... what a goofy test.
