I'm proud of Ralston, winning the All-star game for the MLS All-stars and all. Though bad on Sommer's part in letting the goal in.

How am I supposed to feel about this? Should I be happy that Ralston got a goal, or upset that Sommer let the goal in. I'm so conflicted. :(

I think you should be somewhat unhappy that Jurgen gave up the goal, but happy that, if Jurgen had to give one up, he gave it up to his friend Stevie.

At least it wasn't a gimme.

I'm a much bigger Ralston fan than Sommer, anyway.

But wait, shouldn't we feel bad that the US Nats lost?

Curse you Don Garber, how could you do this to American soccer fans?!?!? ;)

We should feel somewhat bad that the Nats lost, but then again, happy that they lost to their friends in MLS.

Or we can blame it on the ref.

It's a friggin' exhibition people. Lighten the *************** up!

Goals are supposed to be scored, and whether Sommer or Meola or Sunil Gulati was in goal really doesn't mean squat.

Mr. Magpie, with all due respect, I think most of these posts were meant to be light-hearted.

Note Mousey's winking smiley-face!

There's no need to use the *************** word!

Asterisks hurt my feelings :(

On Ralston's goal Sommer had to dive across the goal from left to right after having set himself up for a ball from the left, while trying to 1.) get low, 2.) spread himself as wide as possible, 3.) adjust to the change in direction. Ralston touched the ball with a sort of drag across his instep so that it curved as it went along the ground. He literally bent it around Sommer. I don't think anyone could have stopped that one.

In fact, the Nats defense seened like they were doing a wonderful imitation of the Revs. Of course it was a friendly to boot. But a good one, I might add.

Oh groan, I'm with you Magpie. Maybe it's just culturally different for me, but these "All-Star" games mean less than nothing to me. I couldn't bring myself round to watch one. Personally I prefer a game with some meaning rather than watching some artificial jumble of a team playing half heartedly trying to avoid any severe injury risk.

I suppose it's the American Way.

I was at the game and I'd have to say I don't think that anyone wasn't giving it a solid effort.
The MLS Allstars certainly were trying to get Bruce and whoever else to pay attention to them for next time and the MNT had their pride to play for.

There was easily as much pushing, pulling shoving tripping (diving too), as any other MLS game.
