This is an honest suggestion for the people who chant in the fort from a "quiet zone" fan.

I think it would be great if the whole of the stadium could get behind some of the chanting. It would bring a nice atmosphere. It almost happened at some of the playoff games and the final.

If you want to involve everybody try this:

1. Pick 1 or 2 chants as your stadium chants. These will be popular songs with lyrics everybody knows, with "Revolution" thrown in somewhere. You get the idea -- keep it simple. Something fun that everybody can do with no learning curve. I'm sure you can do better, but here's a corny example: "You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out, you put your right foot in and you shake it all about, you do the REVOLUTION and you turn yourself around, that's what it's all about." The "re-vo-lu-tion <clap> <clap> ..." chant also could work.

2. Start chanting and don't stop after one or two rounds. Keep chanting the same song for about 5-10 minutes. I've seen people in the quiet sections try to join in, but it takes some time to get them revved up. If the fort gives up too soon, the rest will not follow.

I believe people will have fun doing this if it is easy for them to participate.

Ya know reading all these threads only makes me wanna do the "You suck" (which I don't care for much either) and "Supa rev" chants all the more.
You don't like the chants start your own, thank you.

My wife thinks I'm a soccer geek (no argument I guess) but the Supah Revs chant is one of her favorite parts of going to the game. Of course, she may just be singing it to mock me but at least she sings it from the "quiet zone."

I like the Supah Revs chant. I think there's an "h" at the end of "supa."

Could someone post a poll, so we can vote on the Supah Revs chant?

I think is is a great thread. It's up to ALL of us to get the chants/singing going, not just in the fort. Also, people chose to participate in the way they see fit. It doesn't help to say take away what's going on. As we can add more then we'll have more variety. I just thought it was funny that during MLS Cup last year, the supporters groups from other teams started Revs chants in the bar the night prior and they started the Supah Revs chant.

The Supah Revs chant has been with us since '96. I believe it is unique to the Revs (unlike "Glory Glory Revolution" etc., I have not heard any other MLS supporters sing something similar to the Supah Revs), and at the very least the other teams' supporters who have been to the Fort, perceive the Supah Revs chant as unique to the Revs. It is simple to learn and sing. It should be sung for as long as the team remains in existence . . . that's how these traditions become traditions. About the only thing I agree with previous posters is that the chant should continue longer, everyone stops after two repetitions, tops. Why not keep it going for five or six repetitions?

In case there was any confusion, I was not advocating getting rid of any of your current chants. If you like them, more power to you. I personally think they are fine.

I was just saying if (IF) you want to involve people outside the fort, pick one or two easy chants (your favorites or a make a new one), and promote them to everybody else by singing long and loud.

I think we would love to see more people involved. If people have suggestions, my guess is that the people in the Fort would love to hear them. I just don't think it's constructive to say certain chants are bad/should be taken out unless suggestions are being made (which you were making suggestions.) Instead of everyone complaining about the current chants lets be proactive toward the same goal: a louder place.

I'm surprised this didn't get mentioned yet, but our new best friend, George the Plumber got a couple of chants thrown his way from the Fort. And it wasn't "Soo-pah, soo-pah George, Soo-pah, soo-pah George, Soo-pah George the Plumber" (Fred Kfroury is the only one to receive that treatment, and George, you're no Fred Kfoury)

Kevin Hartman enjoyed our company as well, telling us that we were number one, or at least that's what I think that single digit he showed us meant.

I realize we aren't going to get the whole stadium going all game, but the thing that was disappointing is that even a "stand up, stand up!" chant couldn't get the rest of the crowd up during injury time. Is it too much to ask to get people on their feet for the couple of minutes after 90:00 of a well-played win? That should be the goal for now, and then maybe we can work on a "Revolution" chant.

For the record, I think you need some sort of consensus for something to be given a moniker like "The Toolbox." One person calling it that over and over again doesn't do the trick.
