I sent this email out to some friends and posted it on myspace. I could edit to cater to you guys, but I'm lazy. So if you know DCU/soccer fans in the Richmond area that would be interested, have them contact me via email at
Pete803@hotmail.com
I'm compiling an email/phone number list of Richmonders interested in carpooling up to RFK Stadium for DC United games. If we can get enough people, we can even rent a small bus. I'm trying to arrange one flat price to include ride, game ticket and enough booze for the trip up, tailgate and the trip back. This possee will also arrange viewing parties for away games here in Richmond, either at a local pub like Pennylane's or at someone's house. So if you're a fan of soccer, DC United, or just wanna get drunk with us then join the largest supporters group in the USA and MLS! VAMOS UNITED!

We will probably watch the Wednesday game at PennyLane. I will call PennyLane and verify that they are showing it. I'll post another update here next week confirming location. There are a lot of fans down here and we could build a Richmond Supporters Group into something, not sure what but definitely something.
Thanks Pedro for taking the lead.

Awesome, I love this idea. I hate living in Richmond and not having a car, i've missed so many great games.

Pedro and I were talking about taking off around 3:00 I know it probably won't be much later since we want to tailgate and both Pedro and I are making our jobs work around our soccer schedule.

I would gladly skip a class for a DC game but it turns out I have an exam in my late class Thursday. As much as I love DC, I just cant miss this. It looks like im gonna have to pass on this game.:(

Doesn't help for this match but I did purchase a season's worth of Parking Passes so we will parking for $7 instead of $12. I know I will not make every game but will make sure that at least my ticket does. Now come on the rest of you Richmond slackers step up and get on the bus. NEVER RIDE ALONE!!

Just adding my name to a Richmond thread. The SE's have been pinging me over the last few months to try and get something going down here. I think we're at the point now where we've got enough DCU fans down here that we can "bottle the energy" a bit and get some good things going. I have spoken with almost everyone in this thread at some point in the last 11 years in Lot 8 so I know we're all going to games on a regular basis so this carpool thing is hopefully the beginning of some good things. At one point spidergoose had even started designing a "James River Brigade" flag for the Richmond contingent of fans.
FYI, I am the Manager of Screaming Eagles FC in the Central Virginia Soccer Association (CVSA (http://www.cvsasoccer.org/)). If you ever want to come out and check out our games you can find the schedule on the league website (http://www.cvsasoccer.org/). We won our first game this past Sunday (a lot of the games are at Bryan Park) and are in 1st place in the Second Division.
