...for Everton.

Everton have signed on-loan keeper Tim Howard from Manchester United on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old United States star has signed a five-year contract, that will start at the end of the season.
He has been in outstanding form at Everton since falling out of favour at Manchester United, keeping 11 clean sheets in 27 appearances.

I hope he doesn't get "Brad Friedel - good".

I hope he gets better than Friedel. I don't think he was ever going to make it at United after the catastrophe that was his second season (not all his fault but he was out of his depth). I'm glad he's found somewhere to rebuild himself and his career and I'm glad he's playing well.

United away to Everton in April. You can guarantee he will be outstanding in that game :(

would the terms of the loan agreement for this season still be in effect thus ruling him out for the game in april?

not totally suprised to see this happy and i'm glad for Tim because he is at a good club. just sad to see him not get another chance at United especially after such a fantastic start to his career. but hopefully Everton will be the fit for him and further his career as America's #1.

He won't play, as he is still on-loan until the deal goes through at the end of the season. Delighted with the move. :D

Good :) I'm happy for him so. He's a good guy. Just a little too inconsistent for United. Foster looks like the future for United, although who knows if he will be able to handle the huge pressure of being a United goalkeeper either.

I hope we got some good change for it. A starting GK who is young should cost no less than 4M but its likely we got in the 2-3M range.

Yeah, now since we've sold Howard, I guess when we buy Mr. Pink or Torres in the summer, we had to sell to sign 'em. ;)

Good for him.

Very well-deserved contract. Tim is one of the best keepers in the world, no doubt about it.

Didn't see that coming.

When I read about the interview where he stated that he wouldn't have signed a new deal in 2005 if he had any idea that Utd were thinking about VDS, I knew his days would be numbered. Fergie just won't put up with anything negative like that.

Good luck to him. He proved himself an incredible shot stopper that first year and even during his shakey times, he could still make terrific saves with the best of them.

I meant that I didn't see Motter doing the ol' switcheroo. That was surprising. We all knew Timmay was gone.

hopefully thanks to Tim's fine form we got a good price, but i doubt it.

Foster is better in my opinion and the man at the moment to replace Van Der Sar, not sure about Kuszack yet.
