well, it's mods rating season, so i'd better get busy!

OL finally got the monkey off their back, but friday is going to be a bigger test for many reasons:

must confirm their relatively refound form...

visiting a direct opponent at the top of the table...

a few days before the most important fixture of the season to date...

against a team that has been our bęte noire for the last 2-3 years...

and without juninho! :(

lille is going through a bad spell of their own, and also have the match of their lives coming up, at least there's that in our favor.

it will be interesting to see how GH lines the team up, what with the new faces, both acquired and recovered, and toulalan with a little thigh pull (although he reportedly is practicing normally...) and tiago held back today with back pain...

allez les gones!!

i didn't know Juninho was going to be absent.

Ouch.

well if they can win this game they'll be riding high for sure....

guignol, I think you do a great job, especially since it appears as if the other mods aren't ever around the France forum.I remember you telling me awhile ago that at one point you were the only active mod.

it wasn't i who said that, but i did read it from someone.

but the other mods all had reasons for temporary absences, and we see that panic is back already... and i can say that more than half the reports i receive have already been dealt with by someone by the time i log on, so there's a lot of modding going on by others that you don't see.

Bodmer has been included in the lineup for Lille-Lyon. But Tiago and Juni are out and Diarra, of course, is still sidelined.

We'll probabaly see something like:

Coupet

Reveilliere - Cris - Squillaci - Abidal

Toulalan - Fabio Santos - Kallstrom

Govou - Baros - Malouda

I put in Baros because he hasn't had any game time recently, and he needs to get some minutes in before the Roma match. He'll probably be replaced by Fred so he gets some minutes in as well.

It'll be interesting to see Toulalan and Fabio Santos together - two defensive midfielders, which leaves the creativity part to Kallstrom. Maybe this would be a good time to put in Cacapa too, since Lille's attack has been anything but potent recently, but I doubt Houllier would take that risk.

with tiago out there is no other possible lineup in midfield... anyone still think the squad's getting too big?

and since benzema's not going to lille either (should play with the reserves sunday, let's hope he goes to rome!) a half each for baros and fred looks good too.

but with the midfield we've got i think clerc will get the nod over RVR for more offensive punch...

GH says they'll play ā la lyonnaise (no, not boules) and that makes me expect to see clerc very aggressive up the right corridor, govou and källstrom taking turns going to the left to give malouda freedom to roam and never far from fred or baros.

it looks like Fred is going to start, but Baros is surely getting some time as well.

hope Benzema is going to be in the squad again, soon

its got to be extremely frustrating for the youngster. i'm sure he's dying to play.

Govou and Baros are on. Fred stays on the pitch.

approaching the 75th minute. i'm not optimistic of an equaliser at this point. Lille are too organized in defence and OL arent creating opportunities

I agree. Lyon wasn't especially brilliant today, but they got the job done, and they needed a positive result.

Domenech and Alex Ferguson were in the stands today.

great confidence boost ahead of the Roma clash. I'm in a much better mood now.

who was Fergie checking out i wonder?

He was probably checking out Lille before their match next Wednesday. Plus, he probably kept an eye out on Bodmer and Makoun. There were rumors last summer that he was interested in the pair.
