Please rate us, your forum Mods (Motterman, billyireland, and Achtung) and how we moderated the Manchester United forum in 2006.

These polls have been created at the request of the BigSoccer Admins in an effort to improve our community and clarify our newly revised community guidelines for the coming year. Please be honest, civil, and fair in your responses. After one week, we will attempt to respond and address your praise and criticism.

A little background about us... I, Achtung, have been a mod of this forum since November 2005, and have been a member of BigSoccer since July 2002. I've been following United for about seven years now. I live in Chicagoland, and try to catch as many matches as possible live either at home or at The Globe, where I invite any and all to join me for a pint. I guess I do my best to let the discussion flow while also dealing with the stuff that's out of bounds and takes away from what this site is all about. Hopefully I'm striking that balance for you guys. As has been widely reported, you'll get extra points in my book for esoteric pop culture references. :)

I, Motterman, have been a mod of this forum since 2003 and have been a member of BigSoccer since 2002. I'm 35, live in Frederick, MD, and try to always be fair and give lots of leeway to posters... I almost always post suggestions and warnings before using my Mod powers to keep the peace. Achtung has stepped up and done a great job of continuing in that same manner, and so does billy, when he's around. :p

I, Billyireland, have been a mod of this forum since 2006, and have been a member of BigSoccer since 2003. I also moderate the Ireland forum. Now if I could say I a few words... I would be a better public speaker.

Please use the thread as an opportunity to provide feedback. Please note all comments are public intentionally. Your vote, however, will not be public. Your comments can address both the way the board is moderated and the way individual Mods moderate.

Mods may not respond for 7 days. This should allow everyone time to cool off and answer maturely.

SuperMods and Admins will review all results and discuss problems (and praise).

Mods will be urged to bring up points of praise and concern on the Mods board for further discussion as well.

I give Achtung an A. He's omnipresent and fair, letting the petty squabbles run their course day after day. It's called giving the people what they (apparently) want. In addition, he's very handsome and gentle.

I give Motter and Pippin incompletes. When they are around they are both excellent, showing tolerance for annoying posters, particularly the inferior posters who follow other teams. However, I don't notice their presence very often and I miss them. (Maybe they are like top referees, you only notice them when they screw up.) If they have been around and I just haven't noticed, then I give them both a B.

All and all I feel the board is well moderated. Its not the fault of the mods that the quality of the posts here have deteriorated. Maybe we just can't stand prosperity. Thank you to Achtung, Motter and Billy. You do a thankless job very well. One minor additional compaint: no nacho recipes from Motter and Billy yet.

Great forum. Great mods. Only request would be to take some control of squabbling that goes on between 2 posters and drags a thread down. Usually the "banter" goes off topic anyway.

The mods are doing a great job, as far as I'm concerned. I'm the kind of girl who rarely gets called to the principal's office, so I don't really know how all that administrative stuff works . . . but the times I've seen the moderators in action, they've done a great job. I rarely find myself wondering where the mods are (except for missing them when they don't post); I also rarely find myself wishing they would interfere less. It's the right balance, imo.

I love the laissez-faire attitude around here; I like that other teams' posters come here to post without getting harrassed by our mods for blasphemying our team; at the same time, I appreciate how these mods have gone to bat for me on the few occasions that I've found myself in a catfight. Gold stars all around for this year, guys . . . and a special Moderator badge for Achtung's Boy Scout uniform. :)

I'd give everyone an A, Achtung an A+ just because I happen to see him around more often. But this is definitely one of the better forums that are on BS. I've lurked in a couple others, just to see how the discussion was going, and there are some in such shoddy shape compared to ours. For the most part, when posters from other teams come here, they're generally respectful, barring some, and that helps as well.

Also, if I'm correct, Achtung is an Indian from Chi-town, and I can't not give an A+ to a fellow brown brother.

The mods here are too easy going if it was up to me. I would have gotten rid of the fanboys as soon as they submit their first posts. Nevertheless, all three are very cool characters - all with great knowledge and armed with wit and pop culture references, I wouldn't have that any other way.

Seconded. For my money there's no other board on the site that manages to combine craic and banter with intelligent discussion and genuine incisive analyses as well as you guys do. When you factor in the welcoming attitude - which the Spurs board must also get a mention for - you can see why this forum is my automatic second port of call after the Ireland board (and why I bother my arse voting in these things when I don't claim to support the team :p)

I definitely give Achtung an A due to his consistant presence here in this forum. He does a great job of moderating this forum and allows for conversation and debate to continue, stepping in when necessary. I've been a member of BigSoccer since Jan 2006 and Achtung has been the most consistent moderator.

Billy and Motter do a great job when they are around. I'd give then an A- but they have both been kind to me since I've joined BigSoccer and let me in on a few tips to posting on here, like which posters to avoid and such. For that I give them an A. I realise that they have lives outside of BigSoccer unlike some people, namely that one guy who lives in that so called Chicagoland :p.

The only minor complaint I'd have is that the fanboys don't get booted out early enough. Sure in the beginning they are funny to read but it gets really boring and irritating reading the same stuff over and over again.

All in all great job guys, this forum has three of the best Mods around, undoubtetly.
