Reading a number of reports that all is not well in both the boardroom and dressing room at Upton Park. Apparently the Board are questioning the appointment of Curbishley and whether he was in fact the right choice.

Equally it is being reported that the players are not happy with the discipline. I have the answer to that....win a game FFS!!!

I see Reo-Coker is out for 2 games. This could be a blessing in disguise for someone like Yossi. Also believe that Upson should be back for the Charlton game. Spector is out suspended so RB will probably go to Dailly. I'd like to see them line up like this

Green
Dailly Upson Davenport Konchesky
Boa-Morte Noble Etherington
Yossi
Tevez Blanco

Subs: Carroll, Harewood, McCartney, Mullins, Cole, Paintsil

However I doubt that this will be close to what finally goes out on the park!!

I saw that as well Trevor, the Daily Mirror I think, so we now only have 11 games left to get things sorted before the following happens.

As I stated on another post, I think you can buy your way out of the fizzy pop. Especially as the money gap widens.

The new owners of WHUFC cannot afford NOT to spend the money. That's why this relegation will be significantly different from the last one, and potentially the final one for us (one way or another).

Not saying it will be easy, or that they won't fail, just that it can be done. My main concern is whether Curbishley is the man to do it?

Given a full pre-season and a settled, refreshed squad, could Curbishley get us out of the fizzy pop?

Just looking at the stories on internet during lunch ... this season is just getting worse and worse. What else can happen?

Mark, that's a surprisingly refreshing dose of optimism and one which I am sure has come about through accepting our fate of relegation and looking to the future.

You are probably right in what you say, albeit it may be a bit more difficult than that and take more than the one season we are all hoping for to get promoted again.

I think AC can get us back up again and even if he doesn't he will soon be replaced by someone who can. A bigger issue to me is how do we stay up?

Something struck me recently. If there is one thing more scary than getting relegated it's staying in the PL!! This has proved to be a big problem for newly promoted clubs, especially in the second season. Scraping by this season means we have an even bigger task preparing for next season which could well be another survival exercise. But I suppose it's better to get our act together in the PL than via relegation.

That looks like a winning 11. I think Anton could play if he gets back to his old ways.

Yossi needs to play a more forward, offensive role, behind the two strikers. That will bring goals. Blanco and tevez with marlon as a sub sounds real good.

Well Tony, brewing a good beer is similar to making a good football team, (I relate everything in life to beer) firstly, the right ingredients are essential, the basic ingredients are of course, malt, barley, hops, yeast, brewing sugar and quality water, (players) and if these items are well past their sell by date, they are totally useless, and should be discarded, however, the ingredients (players) are also ineffective if the brewmaster, (manager) makes serious errors of misjudgement in the selection of the type of brew (team) he wants to make, finally, the brewery owner (club chairman) becomes rather upset with the brewmaster and dispenses with his services.

Thank you Brian, for making that so clear. I now understand the meaning of life, the universe and everything. The answer isn't 42 or 49, it's beer. :D Cheers.

Actually, winning a game of football is rather like making love to a beautiful women. You just need to make the right moves, stroke it around a bit with style, grace and passion, climax at the right time and get the balls in the net.
We need to return to the time when, in the words of the great commentator, we had '11 Dicks on the field'
