Famous Gooner and Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten took in the Wigan match with the great Arsenal fans of ATX. We shared a pint, had a laugh and discussed how good it is to be a gooner...all confirming that we support the greatest team in the world!

Apparently he's going on a road trip across the U.S. judging punk/rock bands. Being the famous gooner fan that he is, the man will not miss an Arsenal match so he stopped by Fado's here in Austin. Anyone in Las Vegas be on the lookout-he'll be there for bolton this week.

They were filming us all watching the match, so be on the lookout if/when the show makes it to the tube.

His Rottenness could not be any friendlier or funnier. He sang with us during the match and hung out for at least an hour afterwards.

Here are a few youtube videos for your enjoyment:

Quick question- who would know how to get this picture on the actual arsenalamerica website. Who do I contact about this? Johnny Rotten seemed very amused by the possibility and even asked to stay in touch via the "internets".

Yeah...its F*cking Johnny Rotten! Arguably the most famous Arsenal fan behind other far more infamous characters such as Osama bin Laden, Fidel Castro, and John Gatti.

Also, this gives me the motivation to go out and buy this years kit.

Hahahaha thats quite cool. Did anyone here ever see the Baddiel and Skinner world cup show where they had to kick him off because he was being such a wanker?

"Sid couldn't punch his way out of a bag of crisps!"
Johnny Rotten about his insane guitar player.

This quote is priceless.

good stuff.

I was watching Arsenal v. Newcastle @ Fado's a couple years back and Eric Idle was sitting a couple of tables away. He was actually a very nice guy -- said he liked both teams.

Haven't seen any other celebrities @ Fado's, though Bryn Terfel (Welsh baritone) was @ Sedwick's once when we were watching rugby.

sweet!

Eric Idle is my old neighbor's (parents house) uncle. The girl who is my age is his PA (Eric's niece). I should talk to my parents to talk to the old neighbors and find out if he is in Chicago soon and get him to The Globe!

He was in town because he was debuting the musical "Spamalot." Don't know how frequently he gets to our fair city.

FWIW, I like the Globe better too (we go 2-3x/year), but Fado's is much closer for me and the gang.
