#800 x $130 = a cool $104,000 beckham dollars...

The $100k raised equals 4 days of pay for Golden Balls.
Assuming $9 million a year / 365 = $25,000 a day.
The Galaxy would have to host an 800 person tryout every week to cover David's wages.

Arsenal football club are indeed historically known as "the" Arsenal. Plenty of people still refer to the club as "the Arsenal". i.e. their fans can often be heard singing "1-0 to the Arsenal".

appologies.... hadnt heard that... my youth coach who was a die hard gunner, never referred to them as "the arsenal", they were always "arsenal" as in "Arsenal played last nite" not "the arsenal played last nite"
i assumed it was a state-side reporter referring to the team the same way they would refer to a team like "the rapids, the bears, the galaxy, the dolphins"
