After not playing for Real since he signed on with MLS for next year, also after getting blamed for Real not winning a trophy in 3 years and for their current state of affairs, Becks got a game against Sociedad today and scored a free kick just before halftime to equalise for Real, who went on to win, 2-1.

Capello came out and thanked Beckham and apoligised for being an idiot. Hopefully Becks will now start the rest of the games for Real and can play against United when we play them in the Champions League. It probably will happen, the rest of Becks life follows huge storylines, it seems in the cards that he would have to come back to OT.

That's what I said, and I agree with you.

I am really happy that Beckham was able to show all of them that they were wrong. Furthermore I hope that this shows Mcsven that he was wrong to make David Beckham the scapegoat and to blame him for all of the problems that England has been having. Mcsven is an even bigger idiot if he does not call up Beckham now.

I just love the look on Capello's face when that ball went in the goal. Love or hate Becks, he does have a habit of rising to the occasion and delivering, which is something R. Madrid need right now. We're better off without the distraction though.

ridiculous how Capello called him out like that. Say what you want about Becks, but he's always been a top notch professional and among the hardest workers

Who gives a flying fart whether Becks scored or not, he doesn't play for Man Utd anymore!

Yeah, who gives a flying fart about how Roy Keane is doing, he doesn't play for United anymore!

Hardly the same.

By the way how's Andy Cole doing?

Saw the Real Madrid game and was surprised at how well he played. He played the best I've seen from him in a long time. He ran all over the pitch and tried to put the team on his back. Where was that Beckham when it mattered at the WC?

Well, he was a huge player for Manchester United and shining product of our youth system. Sure, his leaving could have been handled better by many different people, including Becks himself, but he still claims to be a United supporter and has never done anything to purposely belittle or shame our club...

It is true and better for my team in general if he doesn't start.

I'm not sure what Becks did wrong during his exit at all. A few months after leaving, he's calling Utd the greatest club in the world, telling everyone who'll listen that he'll be a Manc till he dies, and then refuses overtures from England because he could never play for an English team other than Utd, and that he's always viewed Sir Alex as a Father.

and if you want to know what's wrong with England, it's they don't have a single player like Beckham.

They don't have a single guy that combined above average passing, with above average tactical awareness. Lamps and Gerrard are headless chickens and his wingers don't even bother to look up when they receive the ball. A guy like Becks would actually be able to generate service for the attacking players, play smart football, and be a true set piece threat. But because he doesn't endlessly run at people McLaren thinks he's useless. Idiotic. Euro 2008 should have been Beck's curtain call, but this moron is too proud to let him have that.

England's problems are far worse than simply not having Beckham, and Lampard is definitely not the sort of player I would describe as a 'headless chicken'. Scott Parker and Steven Gerrard, yes, but Lampard, I don't think so.

I think Beckham was a consummate professional in his time here, both before his exit at United and after the transfer to Madrid. He never spoke out against the club at the time. Certain off the pitch activities of his simply pissed off Ferguson..not that they were anything wrong, but Fergie simply didn't think he had his head on right. There were other factors, such as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's form out right in Beckham's last season, and Beckham playing better for England than United (according to Fergie).

We all know once Fergie decides he wants to lose a player, he manages to do it. He decided he wanted to cash in on Becks, and did so. I still can't believe how cheaply we let him go, to be honest. Madrid recouped that transfer fee in probably 3 months. But Becks has never once said a negative thing about the club, and I respect him for that.

EDIT: And drop Lampard for ffs.

Lampard is a headless chicken. All of England, bar Rooney sometimes and Rio, are headless chickens and rubbish. They will never amount to anything. Barily better than USA *smack talks*.
