Well after last week's loss against Derby the Saints really need to get a win here to stay close to the top two let alone in the top six. It is also the highest scoring home team (WBA) vs. the highest scoring road team (Saints). It will be interesting to see how this turns out.
With that said, here is the Saints starting XI:
Davis
Makin-Claus-Baird-Bale
Surman-Viafara-Wright-Skacel
Jones-Rasiak
Subs: BWP, Saga, Licka, Jesus, Bart (GK)

Unfortunately Pele is not in today with a hamstring injury and is replaced by Makin. :(

Ya, the defense is getting thin.
Wow. It was foggy but I seemed about 2 blocks on the sun side (east) this morning. I just looked and I can barely see outside. Visibilities down to a block or so.

Saints are facing a couple of their former players in the form of Richard Chaplow and Kevin Phillips. It's too bad that we couldn't get Chaplow down here again this year as he was good for us in the second half of last year. Well "Super Kev" played well for a few years with Saints, but the way he left after relegation made him a complete and utter w*ncker!!!

Nice idea with the drums, but you try and carry those things around. Not the easiest nor the lightest either; especially in the snowy weather they are having in most of England this weekend.

Phillips thankfully was offsides as he rounded Davis.

A good result for Saints so far. Even though it is very early, I hope that both our lead and their's can hold for the rest of the day. Now if only Derby would finally loose one!!

Robinson gets booked for taking a flying, kung-fu kick on Davis according to the WBA announcers. It's too bad he wasn't given a red instead for such a stupid action!! Even the WBA announcers can't believe that he is so daft. That's twice the ref could have given red cards to WBA!!! What a bum!!

After Derby go ahead 1-0, Hull strike back to tie it up four minutes later. Not a bad result so far for Saints!!

Gera thankfully puts it just wide of the Saints goal in the final minutes of the first half. Still 0-1 Saints. :)

Saints got very, very lucky!!! Philips missed an absolute sitter from 3 yards out!! Not so "Super" there, eh Kev??? :)

NNNNNOOOOOOO!!!!
Well he finally got us!! Philipps scores in the first minute of extra time!! Bale caught completely out of position on that goal.
Saints need to pick it up now since WBA have been sitting in our end for the better part of 10 minutes.
WBA 1 Saints 1

WBA 1 Saints 1 HT
Saints started out brightly, but faded around HT by letting in yet another last minute 1st half goal. WBA are very lucky that they don't have two players sent off, and their goal sounds like it was very much offsides.
Oh well, poor play by us towards the end, better play from WBA, and weak refereeing results in a 1-1 draw.
Now Derby are up 2-1 over Hull. :(

WBA have certainly dominated the start of the the second half. Saints must still be stuck in the locker room from what it sounds.. :(
