The club's current official membership figure now stands at approximately 175,000 - ahead of such heavyweights as Barcelona, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Glasgow Celtic and Bayern Munich - and enough to fill The Emirates nearly three times over.

Cool, didn't know that !!

27 million fans? That gives me an idea. If each of those fans put in £10 a year, Arsenal could pay off their debt within a couple of years. Then afterwards they'd have 270 million pounds a year to spend on transfers and wages. They'd be so rich it'd make Chelsea look like Leyton Orient.

Hell even 5 quid would pay it off in 2 years. 27,000,000 * 5 = 135,000,000. I think we could manage our debt for 2 years then we could each donate another 5 quid the third year just to inject some cash into the club for future projects. What a glorious day that would be. :D

a lot of these "fans" would never know what happened to the Arsenal season unless they won the CL final or the Prem title

"The club's current official membership figure now stands at approximately 175,000... "

I guess this explains why I haven't ever gotten my membership pack or an email back from the club about where it is. :(

Not really,in the 80's he played a lot of gigs with the Pogues and I know a few of those are Arsenal fans, saw him with them in the Dublin castle in Camden and they mentioned the Arsenal result from that day

the club is huge in Africa. I went to West Africa a year ago assuming I'd see a bunch of Man Utd, Real Madrid and Chelsea shirts like the rest of the world, it was mostly Arsenal shirts.
