Alright, right now I have both Fox Soccer Channel and Setanta Sports on Directv, so I have been able to see almost all the ManU games this season. Unfortunately, I have to get rid of one, and I haven't been paying enough attention to which channel I'm watching to know which has broadcast more games this season. Anyone have an idea?

Probably right. But if I'm not mistaken, both Arsenal matches, both Spurs matches, Chelsea, and Liverpool matches were all on FSN. I would think FSN will most likely carry the second Liverpool and Chelsea matches too. If so, thats all the matches against the top 3 and Spurs (who took 5th the previous season) on FSN. I've been working in Phoenix USA this season, so I have been watching the matches on FSN. They also carried a few others, including Charlton today. The rest I had to watch on streaming.

Fox Sports here in Australia tends to have a bias towards the London clubs and Liverpool in their selection of matches. Utd are shown reasonably regularly but do not get the same coverage as Arsenal and Chelsea and even Spurs I think do better. Even when they do show Utd the match is usually delayed with a London/Liverpool game shown live. I presume there is some connection between what they show here and in the USA because of international contract arrangements.

i feel like only a handfull of MU matches have been on Setanta this season. maybe im wrong though. all of the "bigger" matches for sure have been on FSC. however, if you do get rid of FSC, the good thing is that usually Setanta will replay manchester united matches later in the week.. even if they originally aired on FSC. also.. you dont get any champions league w/ FSC.

Setanta USA has shown what probably equates to 80% of the Manchester United matches this season. While most of the London matches, as mac said, get shown on FSC, the gist of our matches are not. So, if you only care to watch us take on Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, etc., then keep FSC, but if you care to watch us for the most part, keep Setanta.
Plus, its always better to go to the local pub to watch the matches against our biggest rivals, at least I think so.
P.S. I hate FSC. They play this commercial about an upcoming replay of a Chelsea-United match from about 96 and they exclaim, "Two of the games biggest giants got together in 96....blah, blah, blah." They are so biased, the ********ers.

Thanks all... sounds like the best plan, as mentioned above, is to keep Setanta and head to the pub for the matches on FSC. Best of both worlds, i think.

i wish Setanta would be carried by Comcast - it would be fantastic.

I've had FSC for seven of the last nine years, so you do get plenty o' Man U.
I've had Setanta for about two weeks.
But I'd say keep Setanta. You do get the United games thanks to Setanta's coverage of MUTV. You get the little shows like Live From Old Trafford and the occassional thirty minute reserve match revue.
It seems like between the MUTV broadcasts and the Man U games they show regularly, Setanta would show more, or at the least an equal amount.

I really wish I could have setanta, but alas I have comcast so I can't get setanta yet. btw something funny:
If you search for setanta through Comcast's search feature on their site this is the results:
No results were found for SETANTA. Did you mean SANTA?
Please try the following tips:
* Broaden your search term(s)
* Try another search word or combination of words
* Go to our Site Map
I guess Santa is about as close to reality as seeing setanta on comcast is.
bah.

To get Setanta without Directv there's the option of something called ITVN.
Check out the Satellite, TV board for more info.

If I have to keep one of FSC vs. Setanta, I will definitely keep Setanta. It annoys me that FSC always has to cut off English announcers at halftime & fulltime instead of letting them wrap up the halves.

There won't be as much live EPL on FSC starting next season, as FSC has won the North American TV rights for Serie A from GolTV.

i think there will be just as much live soccer as the start times for the Serie A differs from the EPL. plus the schedule that was released seems to be similar to last year.
that being said, i need to get a system that has both FSC and Setanta for next season. sucks that Comcast won't add it.

Some potentially big media news today...
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fox Soccer Channel today announced it has expanded its partnership with England's Barclays Premier League (BPL) to include exclusive U.S. mobile and Internet highlight rights for the 2007/2008 through 2009/2010 seasons. Reflecting the BPL's growing popularity in the United States and worldwide, the new deal marks the first time that the league has made highlights available to U.S. fans via mobile devices or the Internet. Fox Soccer Channel will begin offering BPL highlights, commencing with the new season in August, on its market-leading Internet site - foxsoccer.com on MSN - and through additional mobile and Internet video syndication partnerships currently in negotiation.

This sentence really caught my eye...
The broadcast agreement includes rights to distribute full matches via mobile devices and the Internet.
I hope this might signal the beginning of live streaming Premier League matches much like what MLB-TV does here in the States -- pay a subscription fee and watch all the Major League Baseball games online in TV quality streaming video. I have both Setanta and Fox Soccer so I'm good to go at the house, but it would be nice to be able to watch the weekday matches while I'm at work.

Nice thought, but that means they may go after match torrents and the like with much more zeal. Still, it is a good sign, and this along with the petition to get MOTD on BBC America will hopefully start giving us more access to the Prem without a dish or ITVN receiver.
