Some questions for you:

Why do we have such discrepancies between the roster posted on the website versus the actual game rosters regarding who plays which position? For example, the website lists Cullen, Pierce, Hernandez, Franchino, D. Kante, Llamosa, [Downing], and Joseph as defenders yet I have only seen four of those eight play defense this year. The site lists midfielders Kamler, Heaps, Ralston, Jason Moore, Leonard and Frias (Heaps has only started back this year and played that position all of the games I can remember last year). And then there are the forwards: Joe Max, Wolde, Twellman, Noonan and Westfield (Noonan has only been subbed in as a midfielder, right?).

So, what's with that? Who determined how the players should be listed on the website? Does the roster on the website list the position they played in college or on previous teams? Does it reflect how they define themselves? Are we actually playing that many of our players out of their "natural" position? Looking at our starting eleven from the last game, we started four in positions out of sync from what's listed on the website.

It just makes me wonder. Is Jay better at man marking then Cullen, Joseph or Hernandez? Does Noonan have the speed, hustle and accuracy to put the ball in the back of the net for us? Interesting to think about.

Your thoughts?

Maybe they are listed at the position they played when the came to the Revs, and it never got updated as their roles changed?

DH, LC, SJ were all defenders prior to coming to the Revs. Noonan played up top in college his senior year, I think, and Heaps was primarily a midfielder in Miami, wasn't he? Regardless, all of these guys are players who are entirely capable of playing both their listed position and the one they've been playing this year. We've got a lot of guys who are very adaptable to many positions - I think this is a good thing.

The Revs website is a joke. It is rarely updated and the player bios are 2+ years old in most cases. Use mlsnet.com for roster information.
