You might want to fix the title and the top line of this thread, it is not United v Spurs; "Spurs" refers to Tottenham, while we are playing Charlton.

Nice thread, once again, even if we already trashed Spurs :)

This would be a great match to really make a statement with a big score after Chelsea just nipping them 1-nil last week.

Did O'Shea pick up a knock while playing for Ireland?

I would imagine that quite a few players will be rested for the game, e.g. Carrick, Neville and Ronaldo.

I'd go for the following line-up:
------------Kuszczak
Brown-----Rio------Vidic-------Evra
Park----Fletcher----Scholes----Giggs
----------Rooney---Saha
SUBS: Heaton, Carrick, Ronaldo, Larsson, Heinze

Yes, Super-Keeper did receive a nasty challenge around the 36th minute to the ankle. McShane replaced him at half time.

Also, updated since last night:

Rooney ankle 10th Feb 07 slight doubt

M Bougherra calf 10th Feb 07 doubtful
D Bent knee 24th Feb 07
A Reid hamstring 10th Feb 07 very doubtful
L Young knee 10th Feb 07 very doubtful

New £2.5million signing Madjid Bougherra has been struggling with a calf problem, but the defender could make his debut as Talal El Karkouri is suspended.

Midfielder Alexandre Song, signed on loan from Arsenal, is also likely to feature.

Leading scorer Darren Bent has also recovered from a knee problem after six weeks on the sidelines, but he may not be rushed straight back into the side.

This is a strange fixture...

for starters, we'll have a few players who'll need a rest like Neville, Carrick and Ronaldo as they played quite a bit midweek. However, I don't think we should rest all 3. I'd rest Neville OR Ronaldo, not both. I don't want to weaken one flank too much. I'd actually want to start Fletcher or O'Shea in CM next to Scholes and allow Carrick to sit out this match completely if possible.

Carrick (groin) and Ronaldo (head cold) are getting over small problems. I wouldn't be surprised to see one or both start on the bench. Also, our third keeper picked up a knock on international duty.

Ronaldo didn't seem too impaired blowing by Brazillian after Brazillian during the friendly.

If Ronaldo's not 100%, put him on the bench and put Park out there. Same with Carrick, let him sit and put O'Shea out there for this one. Reinstate Neville.

Strongest 100% line-up, please.

Fergie can assess his troops and decide who's good to go.

I don't want to see a soft line-up. We need to hammer them if at all possible.

Apparently the referee for this game has changed:

Mike Riley (Leeds, Yorkshire)

Premiership referees' table
Mike Riley's 2006-07 Premiership card count
Mike Riley is late replacement for Phil Dowd, who is now taking charge of Sunday's Arsenal v Wigan game.

Indeed. Get the job done then make the required changes (if possible).
