Reports that we're planning to build a new stadium on the old Parcel Force site at West Ham (next to the East London Rugby Club - you can see it from the tube), apparently in today's Mail and Express, this is the only link I've found so far...

Maybe West Ham should worry more about staying in the Premiership. Aren't they in the relegation zone or right outside of it? It would be rather useless having a 60,000 seat stadium and playing in the Championship and not the Premiership. I think it'd be wiser to spend that money getting better players, then revisit the stadium idea when they've solidified themselves in the Premiership.

Well yes, obviously that's number one priority
Ahead of getting numerous players back from injury, avoiding possible deduction of points after the Prem League have investigated the Tev/Mash signings, avoiding any disciplinary action from the FA for playing Tev in the FA Cup (after the Prem have come to their decision about the signings), ridding ourselves of whatever voodoo has been put on our Club, I'm sure I could go on and on.
Never a dull moment being a Hammer, that's for sure...

interesting thread,,,, I hope whu build a really big one, that can hold more than 60,000. That would be amazing. It would be the craziest stadium to play in with west ham fans singing the whole time.
It would bring the club more money too, and would give our team a even stronger home dominent position.
Good note, Theresa, any more info on it.
p.s the season's not over yet

There was recently an article in the business section of the LA or NY Times regarding why the English league is the most popular to watch around the world.
Their conclusion was that the crowds are so close to the pitch, and of course the cameras, that the emotion of the crowds becomes part of the drama and makes for a more entertaining product.
This is a point that must be considered if talk of stadium building continues;there would be nothing worse than playing in a souless, cold, windy, saucer of a stadium.
I also think that 60,000 may be a little bit too large for us,48,000 sounds a lot better to me and stick it near the Blackwall tunnel so that mugs like me from south of the river have an easier commute.TTFN.

I'm afraid you've got no chance of that. The stadium mst have good road, rail and bus links.
The majority of fans live in the Essex area, so it's got to be near Stratford and the new olypmic complex. That will cover the whole of London and Essex and Herts. Those of you living south of the Thames will have to realise that you probably deserve it.:D

By God sir i like the cut of your jib, even if you are a "right coaster".To find humour at this dark hour is truely a virtue and i believe a British one at that.I am sure that the ranks will begin to thin and we shall see each's true colours, let us stand shoulder to shoulder and blah blah blah.......into the sunlight.
Let them do their worst and we shall do our best blah blah blah.......
See you on the other side Stomps,LA.
