I think you shouldn't give away the score in the title for one and you need an (R).

United States is just too much for Mexico. I don't know why Mexicans still think they have the better team after they get schooled continously by the Americans. Hell they even kicked their arse out of the World Cup a couple of years ago, these excuses are getting old from the Mexicans. Just accept the USA is superior to you in football.

jajajajja ..... you must feel really good now.........but its ok.......... you won nothin by winning if you really know something about futbol............(and i'm certain that you don't) did you really watch the game...........tell me how it was?........ did USA dominate the whole game?........ did MEXICO was the whole game defending?.......tell me how did you see the USA playing?......i accept that USA did beat mexico .........but they were not superior to us.........learn something about futbol before you speak...............and i'm angry but its just you we have won against real teams brasil argentina and others........ but still is a little frustrating that you are our boogie team...........and don't flatter yourself you are no superior to us. USA just happen to know how to win agaisnt mexico in USA....... but when you play against other teams.........you always lose ......unless of course is a friendly......when you beat brasil or argentina like we have done.........(and i'm not sayin that we are at the same level than brasil or argentina)...... then you can say that you are like us.........we don't measure our potential just in friend ly games with just one natinal team........... to measure you're real level you have to play with many teams.........and by the way with you're way of thinking then bolivia and brasil are equal after all bolivia beats many times brasil in la paz so they are at the same level........please go play brasil or argentina in real tournaments and then speak........you have a very good team i can't deny that .......but you have to accept certain things too..........

The USA won in a very good fashion, you guys have to stop making excuses. I saw the whole game and Mexico had the most chances but the last push in was just not there last night. US looked very organized in the back and Howard played very good role to make the back line feel secure if they had a small slip. They did not play defensive, its a matter of perspective, if you score a goal in the first half against Mexico and you have speed, you will play mostly counter Attack the rest of the game. That is just simply playing futbol.

US created plenty of chances but their clearest options they actualy scored, there is no, "What If", in this sport; either you score or you don't, and in this case Mexico just couldn't do it.

Great Job USA. But lets remember this is just a friendly and besides helping USA in the ranking it doesn't mean anything.

I watched the game online. Mexico had more possession than the US and seemed to push the attack more as well. However, one thing clearly stuck out and that was the US ability to win EVERY 50/50 ball up for grabs. That's a major reason why the Americans defend the Mexicans well. Unless Mexico string together a bunch of perfect passes they will just get broken up and the loose ball is won by the Americans.

When Mexico stop playing like a bunch of pansies, then and only then will they start to win games against the US. Maybe they need someone in the centre of midfield who can scrap it out, someone who may not be El Tri material, but when it's US-Mex he goes in to give them that sandpaper they lack and perhaps even inspire his teammates to actually grow a pair. Also, work on set pieces and get some more speed in the back end as LD punished your defenders on that run.

There was no bunkering in the first half of the game. Going in to the break, it was an evenly matched 0-0. The U.S. wasn't forced to play in their own end until after the first goal. That's when Mexico began to throw everything forward. I don't care what team you are, once you get a lead on the international level, you defend it.

Even after the first goal, the U.S. was able to create chances during the run of play. That's not bunkering. Yes, Mexico should have been able to do better with their chances. But, the U.S. missed some chances in the second half as well. Eddie Johnson's shot and Bobby Convey's steal in Mexico's box are two examples.

Now, your little crack about comparing Mexico - US to Brazil - Bolivia is insulting, and delusional. No one would dare say Bolivia is the best team in South America. Right now, the U.S. is the best team in CONCACAF. To deny that fact is to ignore history. It is also a disservice to the Mexican National team. You can't fix a problem until you admit that you have one. If you simply keep believing that 7 years of domination is due to luck and bunkering then get ready for another decade of humiliation outside of Aztecca.

Why would the US change the way they play against Mexico? They keep winning. So yes, the US plays in a defensive posture. It's up to Mexico to figure out a way to beat us. We keep beating you in the same way. We have one advantage over you and that's a height advantage. Other than Borghetti your team is pretty small. So a lot of our goals come off of set pieces, like the Conrad goal last night. Then we bunker and counterattack with Donovan. It just so happens that our best players are also our goalkeepers and central defenders.

The US is the holder of the Gold Cup CONCACAF championship.
The US finished first in World Cup Qualifying.
The US has lost 2 of the last 10 games they've played against Mexico, both at the Azteca.

Until the US beats Mexico IN Mexico we cannot say that we're superior. It's that simple.

The US can't beat big teams?

History lesson -
2006 - tied eventual World Cup Champions Italy in Europe during a World Cup (one where we didn't play all that well)
2005 - beat Colombia 3-0
2002 - beat Portugal 3-2 in a World Cup. Portugal was one of the favorites to win the World Cup going in.
1999 - Beat Germany twice, 3-0 and 2-0, Beat Argentina 1-0.
1998 - Beat Brazil 1-0.

Mex continues to lose against the US, how many more games in a row do they need to not only lose but go scoreless before they realize they aren't as good as the US. The US played with a "B" backline at VERY best and Mexico through everything and everyone they had at it and couldn't score. You gotta think a full strength US squad will dominate Mexico for years to come, especially since Mex is getting old and they aren't bleeding in new players while the US is.

I do think the US played a somewhat defensive game. On the flip side, of all the times Mexico got close to Howard's goal, I didn't see him get seriously tested at all.
Also, Guardado is an awesome player. Borghetti is way pass his prime.

The US has figured out how to play Borghetti. That's clear. They need to try something else.

Mexico has some very good young players which they will integrate into the team shortly. I have a feeling in 1 year the Mexico team will look very different than this one. I'd say their best player last night was Guardado and he's going to be around a long time.

I do think the US played a somewhat defensive game.

That Bradley (like Steve Sampson, Bruce Arena, and even Frank Yallop) insists on playing Landon Donovan up top with two defensive midfielders behind him is why that is the case. When Johnson came on and Landon moved further back is when there was some better build up for the US.

Also, Guardado is an awesome player. Not that it takes Pele to end Chris Albright's international career in one half (and I say that as a Galaxy fan) he did look quite dangerous on the flank. Too bad for the Mexies they had no dangerous players up front...
