In honor of the Gunners' run to the League Cup Final, Arsenal America's latest meet up is set to take place the weekend of February 24th & 25th (Saturday - Sunday), right here in my backyard, Philadelphia and Wilmington, DE.
The schedule is not set in stone, but, here's a loose agenda to give you some idea of what to expect:
Saturday February 24th -
Late Morning/Early Afternoon: 5-a-side match(es)at a pitch TBD
Evening: Gathering at a bar/bars TBD
Sunday February 25 -
Morning: Watch the League Cup Final at Catherine Rooney's Irish Pub in Wilmington, DE
More details will be coming soon, so stay tuned.
If you can make it to Philly/Wilmington, want to play some footy, down some cheese steaks, or simply want to hang out with some fellow Gooners, please respond to this post, or send an email to mikek AT arsenalamerica DOT com.
Thanks, and see you in Philly (and Wilmington)!

I'd love to come play. Don't know how long I'd be able to stick around (school) but would love to be there.

I'll show up for whatever I can!
I'm nursing an ankle injury, but I may still be able to 5 v. 5--we'll have to see about that one...Wenger tells me that I'm "almost ready, but we won't put a time on it just yet...."

Re: the city specific shirts - they were derailed due to AFC coming down on the crest we were using. We have to use the logo they provided that's up on AA now, which isn't nearly as cool.

Matt's in charge of mailing out the actual ID cards. If you need one ASAP, let me know, and I can mail you a digital copy that you can print out on some card stock if you like.

Yeah, it is kinda lame. We're allowed to keep the logo on this season's membership cards, but we can't print any new shirts, banners, etc with the logo, nor can it be on the site. One of the club's attorneys contacted me a few months back by phone. Told me that it was copyright infringement. :(

It was the crest itself that it infringed upon.

hmm, werid. the logo that Arsenal America has right now has the crest in it, so I don't see what the big deal is.
oh well

Yeah -that's the one they gave us to use. Everything we have has to feature that logo.

that's probably why it doesn't "infringe" on the copyright, since they gave the ok.
if people wanted the city specific shirts, the Arsenal America logo could go on front, really big across the middle and then the city specific stuff could be on the back, would cost a little more though

That's probably what we'll end up doing. Man, with all of your posts in here, people might think you're actually going to make an appearance in Philly/Chillmington! :D
