Simple as.
With recent results, performances and now this team selection do you have any confidence in Steve McClaren to lead England to Euro 2008?

Needs to go now.

I'd take a very heavy loss to Spain if it meanth the FA had a quick re-think.

With Mong the younger playing at left back that is a distinct possibility.
I just don't understand that decision.
And picking Lampard and Gerrard in the same midfield again.
The "forward" line will create absolutely nothing.

The Neville decision is the one that gets me the most. It's a regression to the worst of the Keegan era when gimp junior gave away that penalty in the 87th minute.

I can't say I have any confidence in him. He will probably get England into Euro 2008 but I can't imagine him doing much more.

Exactly. How the hell does he have 52 caps?
Is he even playing left back for Everton?

Phil Neville is not a bad player at all, but the one thing he is not is a left back. I would feel more comfortable with him playing up front than at left back.
It seems to be one step forward (Foster) and two back (Neville and the midfield). I've probably supported him as much as anyone on here, but team selections like this just leave me baffled.

Absolutely not.. He has done nothing but tinker around with formations and squad selections. A clueless disciple of Sven... He has to go.. His decision of formation in the Croatia game was the nail in the coffin imo...His love affair with P. Nev and Downing rival Sven's with David James..

As a defensive midfielder or stand in right back I have no problem with P Neville but we have left backs. It just screams Kevin Keegan MKII at me.

Have you seen the group and the teams in it? McSven is going to have a hard time qualifying England for Euro2008. The next game is Israel away, that's a banana skin.

We have two games against russia, Israel away and Croatia at home. That's four banana skins. If there are no decent English managers, they should have got a foreign one in. I don't see why we should accept mediocrity for the sake of nationalism.

Listen guys, we have no choice but to believe in Maca now. I think if the FA is going to fire him it won't be because of a poor friendly against Spain. They will stick to their decision until we don't qualify. Let’s hope Maca realises he is not the man for the job and quits (like Keagan did) after a bad Spanish performance. If that doesn't happen let’s pray to GOD that Mac's tactics work against Israel. I hope the players perform against all odds and qualify because of their quality not their direction. I have a bad feeling that the players don’t respect Maca -I honestly believe the players respected Sven. For example, look at the comments they made after they exited the Euro 04 and WC 02 championships. Also, look at the comments Hargreaves made about Sven in his recent BBC article.
Oh may GOD - I hope I'm wrong about Maca

Think about it, what top club teams would appoint McClaren? None. So if he's not good enough for them, why is he good enough for us?

Im undecided. Im interested to know what new players England McClaren will bring in. Theres just so many great young players that could do good on this team. I believe Milner still is on the U-21 team? And Gareth Barry should be on the team somewhere. I just dont understand it sometimes.

Worst manager ever. (After Sven)
Sven gets a bad rep, he was a consistent if not spectacular manager but he seemed to lose it towards the end of his reign.
