There was mention of Medieta from Boro coming Stateside on Soccernet this morning. Any idea who he's linked with? I would like to see him running the midfield somewhere. I've always liked him since his Valencia days.

Can't think of a reason she should try, bless her heart.

I love Ann Killion. Time for more FanFic.

Where's the potshot at Donovan? She didn't say anything inaccurate. The captain of the team isn't above criticism.

But there's still concern about those who are staying home, primarily Landon Donovan. The former Earthquakes star had a lousy World Cup, couldn't get Los Angeles into the MLS playoffs, married his girlfriend, Bianca Kajlich (``Rules of Engagement'' premiered Monday night), and has been replaced by David Beckham as MLS's poster boy.

Poster boy? He might have been a featured attraction, but for the last three years Freddy's been the poster boy.

I just thought it was a cheap shot by Killion, who seems to get her writing jollies off of taking shots at a) Donovan and/or b) AEG.

The semi-tragic downward spiral of Martino's career seems to be continuing, with him out of contract and hoping to recover from injuries from last year. Yallop wants him, but only at a certain price. One would think he would fit in nicely in LA with Beckham and Donovan for a team looking to increase their offensive spark and production, but the kid's got to get the fire back. Ever since he suffered that injury in the Confed Cup a ways back, things just haven't been the same for Kyle.

That's sort of the local angle.

It just says he's interested in a move to the US. Doesn't name a team.

That injury led him to play tentatively, which leads to more injuries. In addition, every MLS defender knew if you gave him a couple of good knocks early in the game, he'd just disappear.
