I like Hargreaves' column and found this put an interesting perspective on McClaren. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/6329999.stm

I'm sure he knew what he was saying here by implication. Lack of International experience can't be good. I sense a player revolt building, this sort of thing doesn't just come out of the blue.

Also for the record, it was probably SGE's best quality that when he came into the position it was a clean slate for everyone and he really managed to bring some untested players into the fold that turned our very well for England in the long run (eg Joe Cole). Exactly the opposite of Stevie who starts by forever closing the door on a decent player (for non-football, political reasons).

.

Gerrard clearly doesnt respect mcsven.
The top players dont believe him him. Someone like allardyce or scolari wouldve commanded respect.

Joey Barton kicks ass...............yeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...........:)

Sinner's right, Big Phil/Sam would command far more respect and offer a different apsect.

McSven is too much like his old boss and McTel is a numpty nob.........we're dooooomeddddddddd!

Not up to the job. The FA probably thought they were being "down" with the "kids" by appointing an English manager, shame they chose a really mediocre one. Lacks imagination.

Familiarity breeds contempt.

There's also something about McSven, his looks and voice, which means it's difficult to respect him (that and he's a complete numpty)

Big Sam would have been a much better hire for sure..

Everytime I hear McClaren praising a player he sounds like a paedophile describing a five year old. Really hard to take him seriously.

That and I've always suspected he has a personal hygiene issue.
