The squad looks utterley average.
Kirkland, Robinson, Dawson, Parker, Jenas, Johnson, SWP
Why?
Well for starters, the English national team has always been average

U guys should beat Spain, because Aragones is not trustworthy and his left out a lot of quality!
This is probably the formation against England.
--------------Villa--------Arizmendi
Iniesta---------------------------------Silva
--------------------Cesc
-------------------Javi Navarro
Capdevila-----Pablo------Puyol--------Ramos
--------------------Casillas
Bench:
Torres
Morientes
Angulo
Antonio Lopeznd
Albelda
Angel
Xavi
Xabi Alonso
Reina
I don think we will beat England with this particular squad, but I havent see some of them perform at national level.
That formation is horrendous and Aragones will not play that formation. Why do you have Iniesta in the wing position, it makes no sense. He will most likely play Torres, Villa in the forward positions with Silva in the attacking midfielder position. With either Cesc, Iniesta, Xavi, Xabi or Albelda in the middle. Spain has too much technical class for England as you saw the last time they played and if they play the right midfielders, they should come away with a comfortable victory. It boggles my mind though why Aragones didn't pick Albiol or Alexis to be in the squard, as they are very deserving. I really want to see England win this game so Aragones gets sacked, but considering my immense disdain for England, I'd like to see a victory.

So where was all of Spain's technical class when we did you 3-0 at Villa Park?
You are dangerously close to being a troll.

How am I trolling? You need to relax and learn to accept when people don't agree with you. Yes you won that game, but that was a far different team back then. The current English team can't hold a candle to the technical class of the Spanish.

Coming to the England forum and calling the team average is trolling. This is not up for debate.
As for technique, well there's more to technique than looking flash.

Well, they are both underacheiving nations, it's just that England has always been overrated to death and aren't as good as everyone makes them out to be, not to mention have a boring style of play. Look at Wayne Rooney, the English media hypes him to the moon, yet what has he done since Euro 2004? With that said, we got unlucky by drawing a team that went all the way to the finals and got robbed in Korea back in 2002.

How is calling a team average, trolling? I didn't personally insult anyone or spam the board, just expressed my opinion in a mild mannered fashion. I will be the first to admit the Spanish team has been very average in past tournaments, but they have far more talent than the English to win a tournament and don't have players that overrated to death by the press. No reason to get so defensive, we all have our opinions, as you are welcome to yours.

Get over it. Spain are as over hyped, if not more so, than England.

It's trolling, it's a deliberately provocative statement with the intent of getting a response.
England are not an average team, we may not be a top team but we're certainly not average. The only thing average thing about England is the manager.

Since when are Spain overhyped? England is the most overhyped national team in the world besides Brazil (yet they justify their hype). Nobody expected Spain to do anything this past summer until we won our group. Everyone fully expected England to take the whole thing, but they had trouble beating the likes of Trinidad & Tobago, Ecuador and Paraguay. It's ridiculous to ever assume Spain gets more hype than England.

I was up for a nice debate, no trolling on my part, seems to me you have a distorted view of the word. And yes England is average, maybe not to you since you are English, but many people consider English as such.

Spain are as over hyped as England. We do roughly what we expect in international tournaments but for all the bluster about your technical ability Spain still haven't matched what England have internationally.

How are Spain more overhyped than England? That is a very delusional way of looking at things. This past summer all you heard from the papers, media, site are about England this and England that even before the cup started. And what have England accomplished over Spain? They won a World Cup about 40 years ago on the own soil with the help of the refs to beat Portugal, Argentina and Germany. Not to mention if Pele were never hurt, things might have turned out different. We won a Euro on our own home soil around the same time. In reality the last time either Spain or England won anything was back in the 60's and at home.

And yet most people, media included, thought we'd get to the quarter finals. Funny that.

I'm not exactly trumpeting anything, I'm very skeptical about the Spanish NT. They have the talent, but the mentality or right coach to lead them is lacking. I don't hate England, but I don't like the English NT. They are overrated and have an unbelievably boring style of play, simply my opinion.

You only got to the QF's because you faced a bunch of terrible teams on the way that you barely could squeek by.

So for Spain it's poor management but England just have bad players? :D
Get out of there so I can clean this mess up
