Last week I had a game and within 5 minutes into the game, I rolled my ankle. Right now, the swelling has gone down a bit and it doesn't hurt that much. I can put pressure on itand I played some soccer today without that much pain. But I feel like it's too soon to do any footwork activity. How should I treat my ankle right now? I've been icing it every night, is there anything else I should do? Another thing. I knee that my ankle got hurt on feels weird now. I dunno what it is but it feels like it's giving out. Maybe it's because i'm not walking like I normally do is the problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

Don't play on it. Spend alot of time sitting around, with your ankle elevated. Walk on it sparingly.

When most of the swelling goes away, and it feels OK to walk on it, then do some walking on it. That point could be now, a week from now, or a month from now if you sprained it quite badly. When it wants to be walked on, you will feel it and the stiffness will go away shortly after you begin walking on it lots.

Tape it lightly when you begin playing on it. Take it easy playing/practicing for the first few days, until it feels normal and strong. Keep taping it if you want, blisters are the only negative side effect of that.

Keep it Elevated and Iced for a week or so. When you do start playing I would get Some PreWrap and tape it correctly. I would tape it until it feels 100%. Otherwise you are just going to re-injure it. It might take a month or two to for it too feel good so if you must play, keep it taped good.

thx guys. I have no pain in my ankle right now, but I do have some discomfort on my ankle and knees right now. I think i'm gonna start playing about 2 weeks from now. I asked some people and taping is a must. Since this is my first time taping my ankle, i will do some research. thx guys.
