Since the start of the season is just around the corner, we probably need to get moving on this if we are going to do it again this year (which I definitely think we should). Here is a link to the final version decided upon from last year: http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=290974&page=13
My suggestions for this year's scarf: Obviously change the date to 2007, and Change "Mystics" to "Cauldron".
Also, I think the way we did the presentation/payment last year worked well. Having a drawing for everyone interested in presenting the scarf on-field entered into a drawing. If your name is selected, you pay half the scarf cost for that month (two presenters for each month).
Anyone else have any suggestions/ideas? We need to get this ball rolling ASAP!!

Some of us had discussed a raffle to pay for the scarves. You buy a chance to present. That way the cost is more spread out. It's nice to be able to present, but it kinda sucks to have to pay for it.

I agree about having to pay for them ourselves. However, if we want to be able to present on the field and have the presentation shown on the big screen, I think we are going to have to pay for them. There will be more discussion on this matter at the meeting Wednesday evening with the FO. However, no matter who's paying in the end, we need to get moving. the FO (new owners) have said they would like to see this continue this season.
As for the raffle, if we use the existing funds to purchase the scarves up front, then want to raffle-off presentation spots, I don't see a problem with that. The only possible issue I would see is someone winning a presentation spot then having to be at the stadium 2 hours early to do the presentation. Non-Cauldron people might not be up for that. But, if they know that ahead of time, it's their decision.

Yeah, I wasn't asking for anyone else to pay for them...we've been down that road and it is a dead end.
As far as people not showing up that's a risk regardless. We would just need to state up front what the stipulations of persenting are. We could always draw backups for each slot or something. I was just saying that this spreads out the cost instead of it just falling to the presenters.

I like the raffle idea.
We would just need to figure out the logistics.
Do we run the raffle for the entire month or just the game prior to the MOTM presentation?
Do we raffle off both presenters or just one (keeping the other for a Cauldron member)?
Can we have a table setup inside the stadium to take raffle entries during the game? If so, who is willing to man the table.
Do we have a table set up at the tailgate only to take raffle entries?
Can the raffle be promoted via in stadium announcements?
I definately think this is an great idea that we can take to the meeting Wednesday evening.

I think we run the raffle for the entire month if we can.
I know Stu and I had talked about 1 winner and 1 Cauldronite last year when trying to come up with improvements.
I think we should try to get as much exposure as possible. And if we have the possibility that anyone can be a presenter (by raffle) the team might make an in stadium announcement(...maybe)

No need to hate the playa, just the Pooba who started the thread in the wrong place.

if we raffle off the chance to anyone could the FO move the presention to halftime. that way the winner wouldn't have to be at the stadium early if they don't want to be.

Unfortunately, the chances of getting the player out there during halftime would be extremely slim (unless they happened to not be playing that game). While it would only take a couple of minutes, I doubt we could get them out there as there are things pertinent to the game that need to be taken care of during halftime. When we presented last year, it was even prior to pre-game warm ups, so as to not interfere with their process.

I really like that idea.
As stated by Masfaygo, if we can get them to do the presentation at half-time and if we can get one cauldronite, and one raffle winner to present the scarves I think it would be great. It would give us more visability and would make the whole MOTM thing mean more.

I will put forward a suggestion I made last year.
I think we should make 6 special ones of these white scarves where instead of the "Month" it says "OWNER" and present them to the six principals in OnGoal.
I'd be willing to pitch in $20.

As a coach and a player I wouldn't want to be interupted during halftime of what could be an important game to go get a scarf.

Depending on the game, Curt could be saying to the whole team, "We need to talk... NOW!"
