Had you bothered to read any of the thread you would have realised that we are discussing central midfield in general terms, therefore including everyone from defensive midfielders to attacking midfielders.

That is a bit much to ask. What do you think he is? A MACHINE?

i think the best midfielder is francesc fabregas. Still young, always consistent, and his passing skills is amazing.

Those last qualities you mentioned is true for all of the good CM's. That in itself is not going to make you the world's best CM.

I nominate Gattuso.

Gattuso cause he's Gattuso. He just goes after the ball for 90 minutes straight, plus he's getting better with the ball on his feet aswell

As much as I love Gattuso, it depends on what type of system you're looking for. If you are looking for a "pretty" offense I'd say kaka but anything "tougher" I'd automatically say say Gattuso.

Also Pavel Nedved is still impressive

I will agree, but it is players like Gattuso that let players like Kaka make it pretty. The reality is that great teams need both Gattuso and Kaka.

I am not talking about England.

Start to read

Sorry mate, but Fat Frank Lampard is probably the most over-rated player in Europe. And Terry isn't too far behind. I'd take Gerrard and Carragher ahead of those two flat-track-bullies any day.

Must admit, I like Baracha -looks a really useful player. Pirlo looks a bit over-rated to me.

CESC FABREGAS for someone so young to be so composed, to be a leader on the pitch, the organiser, the orchestrator simply the best
FOllowed by ANDREA PIRL0 seen him assist a goal from the edge of his own goal box to set up a striker 1v1 with the goalkeeper against Juventus. Just lifts the eyes and plays the perfect balls. If he could defend hed be the best player in the world and better than CESC.

Bear in mind that I'm neutral on this.

So please explain , Mr Chelsea, why it's "stupid" that I would prefer Gerard and Carragher over Terry and Lampard? Why exactly does that choice make me mentally deficient as distinct from possibly misguided?

What is it about the underperforming Lampard and the equally unconvincing Terry this season that makes anyone who remotely considers that they may be over-rated a mental pygmy when compared to your continental-sized cranium.

Please engage your big brain and tell all, you condescending shitehawk.

Lampard had a better season than Gerrard, whow as more productive, yet again? Gerrard has been pretty anonymous for long stretches, and his team, that he and Carragher "inspire" were not factors in 3 of the 4 trophies they competed for.

Terry is the superior player to Carragher, and that's not something new, pretty much an easy one to figure out. There's a reason why he's always been picked ahead of him for England and for teams of the year in the EPL.

How the hell is that true? There is no real evidence to back up your claim that Terry is a superior defender than Carragher. Carragher has had much more experience in big games, against the best teams in Europe...and Terry has what? Just look at the teams that Carragher has stood out against, and what Terry has done.

You mean like Barcelona, United, Valencia, and Munich?

Or how about internationally like Argentina, Portugal, etc. Don't see Carragher play much for England, and when he did, well, not very good........

You could put either Gerard or Carragher into a poor team and they'd make a real difference. Put Terry or Lampard into a poor team and they'll simply sink to the same level, especially Frank. Mind you, I think that both Lampard and Terry would get on better than the two scousers if they went abroad. For me, Gerrard and Carragher are streets ahead as players in the Premier League, but I suspect that given the right team to join, Terry and Fat Frank would do better abroad.

Ugh, Gerrard vs Lampard debate once again.

CESC FABREGAS for someone so young to be so composed, to be a leader on the pitch, the organiser, the orchestrator simply the best

Are you trying to say Fabregas is the best midfielder in the world? He's really good, I'll grant you that, but not as good as some others. He has an all round game, which is impressive, but Gerrard is better all round. Then there are others, like Pirlo, who are so good at a particular job that they are counted amongst the best players in the world such as Xavi, Scholes, Essien and Gattuso.
