Admittedly not every single game but I've seen and heard enough to know that neither had perfect games all season long.

Just look at Xavi against Liverpool in both legs. Where were those good games?

I did not say perfect

Citing two players who never show up for England to support your case? Oh dear! I see you have starting trying to desperately claw your way out of that hole.

Frank Lampard is the best player in the world.
Actually that statment is redundant.

My personal favorites are

Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo, Gattuso, Xabi, Baraja

Xavi and Iniesta for their passing, vision and control

Pirlo because of the passing and the vision, and the fact that he's a true deep-lying playmaker.

Gattuso cause he's Gattuso. He just goes after the ball for 90 minutes straight, plus he's getting better with the ball on his feet aswell

Xabi cause he combines both a physical presence with a beautiful long pass

Baraja becuase he's such a dynamic, powerfull player with great influence

Mascherano will be one of the best. Give him a season or two and all clubs will be begging for his signature.

for me, it's riquelme (when healthy) and Scholes as the best. gerrard is good, vieira when in form is scary at the position. and kaka in the central role is better then lampard.

There are many better central midfield players than Lampard. It depends on what you expect from a midfield -player. If you expect them to score goals, then Lampard's pretty good. If you expect them to create for others, then forget Lampard. the guy does little or nothing in midfield. Amongst England fans he's known as "the crab" as he's always going sideways. Personally I wouldn't have him playing for England as I think that he throws the whole shape of the side out and it's like playing with a man short in mid-field.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

The most over-rated? Yes (Hang on, that's Rio Ferdinand)

One of the most arrogant? Yes, judging by his reaction in the England training camp to Joey Barton.

One of the most over-paid ? Yes, absolutely. Just ask West Ham and England fans about how much use Fat Frank is in a struggling team.

Seriously, if Barcelona buy him, it will be one of the most appalling signings in history.

Must admit, I like Baracha -looks a really useful player. Pirlo looks a bit over-rated to me.

Xavi is.

Baraja isn't but my joke wouldn't have worked if I'd laboured that point.

Gago will be the new Redondo...also hasn't anyone been watching Ajax this season? Nobody has mentioned Wesley Sneijder, he's the in-form midfielder in Europe at the moment
