I have been liviing from the US for too long. I felt weird watching the award presentation. This might sound normal to you or me 5 or 6 years ago. For now, it is so weird.
1) They presented the Super Bowl trophy to the owner, not the players. It happened in almost all American sport, but I did not realize it was weird until now.
2) The "World Champion" tag never sounded weird until yesterday.
3) When Manning got his MVP award, the first thing mentioned was the Cadillac sponsorship.... I forgot what the presenter siad, but it was corny.

1) I guess it weird when youre use to seeing the team captain in soccer get the trophy but the owners in american sport leagues seem to have a more hands on/ public role in the team plus theyre the ones who founded the leagues so I guess it aint too bad.
2) I think its ok to be called the world champion without argument in the NFL since its the only league that plays american football.
3) Cadillac help pays the bills so they deserve to be mention. Although with all the commercials and mention of sponsors during games you think they could lower the ticket prices for the super bowl, playoffs, and regular season game.
One thing I noticed which was weird this year is the celebration. The super bowl is the one and only trophy in the NFL its not like England where you have the world cup, european cup, champions league, uefa cup, premier league, fa cup, and league cup all for grabs. Yet ive seen more excitement and enthusiasm from winning those trophies than I did see from the colts who only had 3 previous super bowl winners on it. In fact the Tigers celebrated alot more when they won the divisional series than the colts did last night.

Most of the fans had also left. I guessed too many neutral fans and the car park must be narrow. :) The Division playoffs had always been more exciting in terms of fans participation. The neutral site took away the home field atmosphere.

True its definently not a fans game anymore. Mydads a season ticket holder for the colts and couldnt get a super bowl ticket because only 13000 tickets went out to the fans per team. So only 26,000 out of the 75k+ were average fans*
Plus Im sure the rain had some effect on it. My memory fails me but how has past celebrations been? I do remember R White running around like a maniac
* average in the sense that they can afford season tickets playoff tickets and super bowl tickets plus all the money in getting to and from miami plus food and lodging

You don't know the Colts then. That was SUPER hyped up for them, and it took them so long to get to this point that they know they deserve it. They're just not a team that rubs it in your face. They have class.

I do know the colts Ive been to several games and my season ticket holding father has to break down every game for me when he calls. When Liverpool won the champions league and celebrated where they classless? When Italy celebrated the world cup were they rubbing it in the face of france and the rest of the world?

Hard to celebrate when the pitch is suddenly invaded by thousands of people out of nowhere. The players and coaches can't even move because of all the nobodies who've suddenly materialised, let alone celebrate.
It also doesn't help that gridiron doesn't suddenly end but seems to fizzle out over about half an hour.

Some games end dramatic some dont much like soccer some games are close others are not. I can tell you the AFC championship game didnt just fizzle out.
But that is a good point about all the people storming the field along with the players I never took that in account.

Look...they DID celebrate, they just didnt hop around and make fools of themselves. Like always, they acted like professionals, like theyve been there before, which is an extreme rarity especially in the NFL. With all theyve been through for the last 5 years im sure they were more relieved to have finally done it than anything else. Few teams in recent memory have paid more dues and earned their championship more than the Colts this season.

And a trophy you can drink out of.
Congratulations to the Colts. Hurts to say, but the better team definitely won.

The look on Manning's face said it all.... he is not satisfied. That should be a scary thought for the rest of the league.
Maybe they are fools....... who knows. All I know is that the journey was long and ardous, but we're not done yet.......................
