Surely there will be some new faces this is the team I would pick now

Ustari
Barbosa
Franco

Zabaleta
Ferrari
Gaby Milito
Coloccini
Burdisso
Clemente
Heinze

Cesar Delgado
Maxi Rodiguez
Aimar
Gago
Beluki
Cambiasso
Lucho Gonzalez

Zarate
Palacio
Tevez
Messi
Higuain
Saviola

Something like this. There is a lack of good defenders in my opinion, especially at left back.

I think only Zarate should be picked, because he is so great no one else will be needed.

Those players are just hype. Definetly not World Cup material.

I'm glad to see you picked Cesar Delgado! I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who gives him any love. :p

but no Mascherano?

Belluschi, not Beluki, now stop making threads in this forum. It's a half-way decent list, but there's no Carrizo, no Aguero and most shockingly no Mascherano who is still, despite his lack of form this season due to no games, is the best holding mid at Argentina's disposal.

MONTOYA, is by far the better keeper as of today. The only reason he is not yet the Argentine keeper is cos he plays for Belgrano. Ustari is overhyped and Juan Pablo Carrizo is a good prospect but not yet there.

Zabaleta
Ferrari
Gaby Milito
Coloccini
Burdisso
Clemente
Heinze

Forget Heinze (past his prime) and Clemente (not enough quality). But as of now, there are not locks for these positions. Paletta is not playing and Cahais I am not sure.

Cesar Delgado
Maxi Rodiguez
Aimar
Gago
Beluki
Cambiasso
Lucho Gonzalez

You kidding right? And I say no to Aimar either. I would like to see D'Alessandro, Archubi, Aguirre, and Nico Cabrera.

Zarate
Palacio
Tevez
Messi
Higuain
Saviola

Where is the strike force??? You need a reference in the area and I think Higuain just had a lucky streak. I would like to see Klimovicz (I am not kidding), Bergessio and Marco Ruben.

We need players with hustle, passion and guts. No more Cambiassos, Lucho Gonzales, Aimar, Heinze, etc...

I am not sold on Carizzo but he just played some games.

Montoya I don´t really know as I hardly see any Belgrano games so I can´t comment on that

Some more points:

Klimo is too old
I pick Gago and Cambiasso as a back-up, eventhough I don´t like him. If Masch starts to play he could be back, but let´s see first. I would Demichelis now over Masch
I really don´t see any left back besides Clemente and Heinze.
Aimar I don´t really like but I don´t see really a player who can bring some creativity into the team if things get rough. Aimar can fill that role and that´s why I pick him. He is playing ok in my opinion this season, good move by him to move to Zaragoza

Messi is not hype. Maybe at the striker position like in the last 2 friendlys he is hype...but when playing more in the midfield...he is the real deal. I would take him over Ronaldinho at Barca any day.

mmmmmmm i think Montoya really deserves the spot he has a lot of confidence and is a scary GK

as for the defenders i would Go with

Ferrari
Palleta
Garay
Millito
Heinze
Burdisso
Villagra (many havent considered him, but hes very very good, and Grimi is another good left back who Milan are saying he will replace Maldini :>)

Fazio, and Gioda are great as well

as for the midfielders i havent seen much of the european based players, but as far as what ive seen this is what i'd pick

Gago
Mascherano
Lucho
Messi
Belluschi
D`alessandro
Maxi
(just wanted to mention Banega who's playing with the u-20, and Leto from Lanus as well as Sosa from Estu can maybe get a chance

Zarate
Saviola
Aguero
Higuain
Millito
Pavone

2010 is so far away, why make a list of players for that World Cup,what we need is players for now.Copa America is around the corner.

Keepers:
Carrizo
Ustari
Navarro Montoya

Defenders:

How bout Pinola as a left back?
Zanetti still has it in him
Ayala could definitely play
Gaby Milito
Burdisso is playing well
Heinze
Ferrari
Coloccini

Mid fielders:
Gago
Mascherano
D'Alessandro
Lucho Gonzalez
Cambiasso (maybe)
Messi
Belluschi
Maxi Rodriguez

Forwards:
Saviola
Crespo
Aguero
Tevez
Pavone

Theres 24 players maybe leave out Cambiasso or Crespo. These are the players I would have in mind for the Copa America.

 Guys, Why have you not mentions Gonzalo???? He is probably the best defender we have.

Castroman
07 Feb 2007, 02:21 AM
Cause he's been injured for a while and i kind of forgot about him because of the increase of talent that we have, but hey he's surely a classy player and could be on my list any time :)

Guys with all respect to Zanetti Crespo and those guys, but i think some other new comers deserve a shot dont u think? specially for Copa America like Ferrari, Villagra these guys have done great with their teams and dont leave out Cabrera who simply every ball that gets crossed out of his feet is dangerous!, Moralez as well, im not saying leave out the experience for Copa America im just saying to too much experience thats all and some guys really stepped up for their teams the past yr or so Belluschi as well and give D`alessandro another chance please :p

Copa America is a serious thing. We should put our current best players for that. New talents can get their chance to shine and join the 2010 team in lesser tournaments like Sub-20 or Olympics.
