Quite possibly the most important person we need to secure,
http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=446031&CPID=8&clid=3&lid=2&title=Wenger+set+for+contract+talks. (http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=446031&CPID=8&clid=3&lid=2&title=Wenger+set+for+contract+talks)
If wenger signs a long term deal, that just sends Arsenal's stock through the roof. No matter what gets thrown our way, he would probably be the most capable person on the planet to deal with it. Now that he has players like cesc, walcott and denilson I couldn't see why he would not want to see out their development.

I can't see Wenger leaving. He's got a great situation at Arsenal, the best young players, the best training facilities, the best stadium. Where would he go? Italy? I doubt it, especially right now. Spain? I don't think so, too much interference. I can't think of any other job that would be attractive to him. Maybe manager of the French National Team, but that i think he would consider that semi-retirement.

Wenger is easily the most important person at the club right now. As has been said above, he has no reason to go anywhere else at the moment. He has complete control over all football-related matters and a great young squad coming through. The board let him get on with running the team while they sort out the finances, the ideal partnership at any football club. I don't think that anywhere in the big leagues in Europe would suit him, the club presidents seem to have way too much to say about footballing matters than I think he would like.
Two things:
1. When those negotiations happen in the Summer, give him whatever he likes.
2. When he does decide he's had enough of management, keep him in the club. Whether that be on the board, coaching the youth team, scouting, driving the bus, whatever, just keep him here!

I had heard that he was making 50K #s per week..how does this compare to the Red-nosed Drunks, Dick Tracys (currently Real Madrid manager, but not sure for how long..) and Special Ones of this world, salarywise???

If you go to the Football Rich List 2007 in FourFourTwo it gives you some salary info for managers in the Prem or with England. I posted this last month.
Right now Wenger's contract runs out next year. The reports are that we've offered him a 3m/year contract for 3 more years and that despite offers of a "job for life" Wenger has said that he wants to keep his options open from 2011 onwards. I hope the board doesn't screw this up and does what is needed to keep Wenger at the club until at least that 2011 date. Keep in mind that Wenger gets less than Jose, Fergie, and Sven and that is just from managers connected to the Prem/England. Pay the man.
Jose makes 5.2m/year in salary, Fergie 4.1m, and Sven 4m to Wenger's current 3m/year

That's utterly disgraceful. Wenger IS Arsenal, he deserves at least 200k a week and should accept nothing less. Think of all the revenue Arsenal make that they wouldn't without him, it's time he was properly rewarded for his work.

yeah let's sell the stadium so his wages are paid ;)
They should just write a blank check and say "In Wenger we trust!" haha ;)

As long as the club decides to do what Wenger wants, he'll stay .. Or atleast as long as the club remains English-owned !
