Wigan are clearly not the side of last year, many of their finer players are gone. They are fighting just to stay up. This fixture couldn't have come at a better time for The Arsenal; with tons of injuries and Senderos being suspended. Some home cooking and a weaker side are perfect after this ugly draw with Boro.

My Prediction: 2-0 to The Arsenal.

GO ON ARSENAL!!!

I'm with you on this. We need to regroup and get a few "easy points" in.
If this injury wave don't stop soon we'll have no players left to send on the pitch.
I'm expecting a 3-0 victory for the Gunners.

I'm glad the players have a full week to rest and recover before this game. Its a really busy schedule the next few weeks, we're gonna need our whole squad.

Half of them (or more) are playing midweek for their national teams. That usually means more injuries and tired players. No rest here I'm afraid.

Yeah, i forgot about that. Good time to play some worthless friendlies.

Hopefully the national team coaches will have the sense not to send them out for 90 minutes.

oh, very likely.

so damn frustrating. I wouldn't feel at all down on any of our top players who get mom to call in "sick" that day. nothing against national playing, but right now, a friendly, for what purpose? etc.

Yeah thats the drawback to having so many great players...even large numbers of the fringe/reserves have been called up to play for their national youth teams. I just wish they wouldn't have all of these international breaks midseason. All international games should be played between seasons or as part of winter break. This is what the 3rd/4th break we've had in a post-World Cup season. Just stupid.

Sounded as if Bap, Fred and Billy aren't to far away now, it would be pleasant to get an unexpected boost for this one. Wigan (h) has goals written all over it, it would be very productive to have a stylish win before all the important matches coming up.

Domenech will probably put Henry out there for 90minutes.
I think Cesc should get a breather. Xavi and Iniesta should play for Spain.

We need to keep a clean sheet and score goals goals goals against Wigan.

Arsene should rest Cesc and play Denilson next week (if he does not get significant minutes for Brazil)... get Cesc ready for the Bolton game... in fact, I would not be against playing the B-Team against Wigan jus so they could be ready for Bolton

As long as Henry jogs around for the 90 like he does for us it should be fine!

If henry get's injured by playing 90 minutes in a useless friendly, I will be on a plane this weekend to go and personally murder Domenech.

If you can't get rid of these friendlies, at least send out B teams. All the players who don't have their spot in the squad cemented should be playing - brazil do this, Domenech will field the team he did in the World Cup finals. It wouldn't surprise me if he has called zidane out of retirement for this game.

Domenech will go further than using Henry--he'll forcibly recruit Wenger to serve as Assistant, then give him an impossible puzzle to solve, demanding "solution or death," which will tire Wenger out as well......but he'll solve it. oh yes, he'll solve it....

We've got more chance of signing Henry for £1m in summer than getting anything out of this.

With - Camara, De Zeeuw, McMillan, Sharner, Camara, Baines, Cotterill all likely to miss the game the line up will probably be something like.

Kirkland
Taylor Boyce Hall/Jackson Unsworth
Valencia Skoko Landzaat McCullouch
Folan Agahowa.

or he'll play Henry for 90 and any other striker for 45-60 mins.... especially if they're from another prem team

Thats what they said about Newcastle at home earlier this season. We were also supposed to rip Fulham a new one away too....you never know with this team.

I would really like to see Denilson out there, he has been playing well as of late. Hoyte too, has been impressive and im glad we let Lauren go as to not stunt his progression. As for the friendlies, France's is against Argentina, so it's two teams loaded with expensive talent, no one is trying to get hurt in a meaningless friendly. I don't see them going to hard at it on weds, and i don't expect to see Henry out there the full 90 either. Unless, of course the head coaches decide this match is for the services of Higuain then it might get a bit liveler :p

The puzzle to solve is... "How do i play clubs best players for the full 90, completely wear them out, then send them back to their clubs BEFORE cruicial games and NOT earn the wrath of managers?"

And as good as Wenger is (praise Le Boss) i dont think there is an answer for this one.
